Well. Currently only two regional airlines in the USA fly the EMB-175. Only one currently flies them for United. Since United is financing these I'm certain there is an RFP out to fly them. So the questions to ask are: 1.) who could have a program in place, approved and pilots trained by first quarter next year and 2.) does this RFP involve the parking of smaller gauge rj's in exchange for the "privilege" (<-- tongue in cheek) of flying these larger gauge regional jets.

Find the answer to these questions, throw in some chicken bones, goat's blood and a sprinkling of Miss Cleo and you will have your answer as to who will be flying them.

My money is on two carriers...one currently flying them for United and one who currently doesn't have them on property but is a relatively stable company that needs to diversify their fleet and has an agreement in place for first right of refusal on "new"/replacement/larger gauge aircraft.

UAL isn't going to give Republic more flying to compete with them ( frontier )

The 50 seaters are coming off contract no matter what.

My bet- whomever they feel will operate the a/c with the best performance, for the best possible price..
 
There going to Skywest\Expressjet in exchange for 50's

This doesn't even enter into the calculation. Frontier is an annoyance, not a serious contender. Recall that as part of their restructuring they have 1/3 less flights than just a year ago. Additionally, they most likely will be spun off shortly. There are two investment firms/capital groups in talks with them.
 
Disregard my last transmission...MORE E-170s for RAH:-) **sarcasm** That place is a "clusterfoxtrot" and that isn't meant as an insult to the many fine crews there, but to the corporate entity.

Guess u missed the part of the article where it said that they will be configured with 76 seats...
 
SAO PAULO (AP) -- Brazilian plane maker Embraer says it's signed a firm order with United Airlines for 30 regional jets.
With the option for United to buy an additional 40 jets, Embraer says the deal could eventually be worth nearly $4 billion. The first planes are to be delivered in the first quarter of 2014.
The E175 jets will be flown by the airliner's United Express regional service and will have a 76-seat layout.

Mesa didnt care about 50 seat rates in their last contract because they are a dying breed. Why waste negotiating capital on an aircraft that nobody wants anymore..
 
If Skywest or ExpressJet get them we will have to know pretty soon. On the last earnings call they addressed the E-Jet issue and stated that optimistically it will take 6 months (and more likely 6-12 months) to be ready for first delivery.

Had a jumpseater who is friends with a manager, he said smallsak is livid that Republic submitted a fuel bill for more than 200K gallons of fuel with no A/C reference in DEN alone.
 
I could be wrong but my bet is that Comair is getting the A/C. I heard it from a guy who's brothers friend cleans the corporate bathrooms at United.

Now I know that's a load of crap. Smisek doesn't even know who Republic is, let alone what they fly.

How are they burning that much fuel when they do 230 knots everywhere?

Shows how truly stupid you are, if you don't think smallsak, uncle jerry, brad h, and the reverend don't play golf on a regular basis trying to figure out how to keep pilots divided and at each others throats you are high. The reverend's minions screwed up when they decided to slip the fuel slips into the UAL pile. And if you don't think that they would notice 200K gals of jet a, you are even higher, this business is statistically driven, so when they couldn't reconcile that additional fuel to a series of airframes they panicked. By keeping you and every other pilot at a regional, they keep a significant amount of pay for executive bonuses.

And it shows just how stupid you are. I finally got out from underneath those morons in ATL whose puppet strings were being pulled by St. George and away from all the commando sweater wearing kool-aid drinkers who were so afraid of having their bases messed with that they refused to stand up for themselves. I got out of the regional rat race.

Seriously, Jeff is so far out of touch in the day-to-day operations of the airline it isn't funny. His minions do his dirty work. He counts the days until he can collect his millions.

Your comments are personal and inappropriate. They also show that you TRULY don't understand how a large organization like United works (and the involvement of the CEO in the day to day operations).
