I think Ted Williams tried to turn the Aerostar into a jet. Don't remember the era (60s, 70s, 80s?) but if it had left the blueprints it would have been the first true VLJ!

Interesting, but the current project is a little different, much like the PiperJet, it's got a center mounted single in the vertical stab.
