When did that happen and so what if they did? You're still short of pilots and the company has the opportunity to expand outside of Northwest.

It happened today and do you actually think that any company would be stupid enough to contract with us since we dont have a pilot contract...they have been talking about growth outside northwest for years and it is called colgan....

Yeah just found it: http://biz.yahoo.com/e/070426/pncl8-k.html

That's a shame.

But anyway, there is supposedly 30/month leaving Pinnacle for Majors and Fractionals and seeing as how PNCL has a 10-year agreement with NWA I still don't see why it's a bad place to be. A regional is a regional. One year business looks bleak, the next it looks great. Telling everyone not to go there is just hurting the company more. I realize there are sometimes better situations to be in, but helping to sink your own ship doesn't make much sense. All regionals suck.

Guess we'll see when this contract gets finished.

I am not helping to sink the ship...it has been sinking for the last year all by itself...ask pretty much anybody on this board that has worked here and they will tell you the same...it is not a horrible place but there are definitely better places...even XJ is probably better post bankruptcy

I am interested on joining the team so,
- Reserve time
- Junior Base
- Commute
- Days off
- Upgrade
- Moral

Thank you all.

-Reserve time is dependent but pretty much nonexistent in DTW and I think about 6 months in MSP and MEM
-Junior base is DTW but I think they are handing out all 3 in training...if you dont get it right away you should get it soon
-commute depends on where you are coming from but not very good
-Days Off...min 10 days off but average is about 14...I have been here over 2 years and I hold between 16-17
-upgrade right now is short as in new hires are getting it but they just changed the mins so we will see
-moral...just read the above posts...morale is very bad

Dave is on the money for the most part.. Let me just add .02
-reserve is as posted, but with upcoming shortages you can plan on less than 4 months in just about any base.
-Junior Base tends to be DTW, MEM tends to run senior
-commute... DTW tends to be the most commutable, but it depends on where you live. MEM and MSP are not as commutable. If you commute from a high commuter city... good luck!
-Days off... 10 by contract and until off reserve by a few months count on no more than 10. From there it depends on domicile and time. After 1 year the average is 14 days in DTW, 12 in MEM and 13 in MSP, after 2 years in DTW it is 16+, MSP and MEM 14+. Top lines tend to go to DTW which the best is 20 days off, but lifer FO's and CA's own those.
Upgrade- I would estimate year or better, with new upgrade times I see it climbing to 18 months.
Morale... it is what you make of it. everyone is different, we are a regional what more can I say?

do you actually think that any company would be stupid enough to contract with us since we dont have a pilot contract...

That is what management wants you to think, but actually it doesn't have anything to do with labor costs, that is PCL management problem. A major carrier just offers a contract based on price of the seat flown so many miles and performance,(Being able to actually complete the flights agreed upon) whatever they (The regional) have to do to keep those prices agreed upon the major carrier couldn't care less.
Now, performance is another thing. If with the lack of staffing the ability of the company to actually cover the flights they agreed on doing is reduced then that is a point to consider by the major carrier offering the contract.

How hard would an IND commute to DTW be? Looks like there are a lot of flights between the two each day I didnt know if you could check loads out and find out?

A regional is a regional.

You couldn't be more wrong. The difference between ExpressJet and Pinnacle is extraordinary. Regionals aren't all alike, no matter how many flightinfo posters like to pretend they are.

Telling everyone not to go there is just hurting the company more.

Good. The more the company struggles with their staffing, the more pressure is on them to settle the contract.

I agree with Dave. Don't come here.

Is DTW commutable from SFO?

DTW has some west coast commuters, consider you will have to double hop when the release times are after 2000.

Inbound... on the red eye..

MSP has the larger group of west coast guys/gals... only 1 timezone you have to jump as well.
