I never would claim every woman or man for that matter could handle a spouse having an aviation career. I can't blame those who can't handle the time away their spouse spends. That said for me I knew I couldn't get married until I found a woman who could.

If you were married and THEN decided to become a commercial pilot I might see that you have to put family first and maybe that means giving up the dream. The reality is if your girlfriend/fiance/wife knew who and what you are before they made a commitment, then that commitment should be forever.

For me my wife knows that flying is who I am, and without it I wouldn't be the man she married. She supports me and lifts me up in my career and life and I wouldn't have it any other way. She knew what she was getting into and for us, as a family, well it works perfectly.
