My troop commander in Korea was Brian C. Fluke and he was a Major.

Saw a PIA flight crew in CYYZ yesterday and holy smokes I couldn't believe it. This is a sight in itself, the first officer had a beard (no kidding) almost down to his chest. ! ! ! - After seeing this I was a tad intimidated to look down at the names....

A fellow S-3 Bubba used to wear a "Buster Hymen - Flight Gynecologist" name tag on his flight suit. Then we got chicks on the boat...

The best ever works with us, last name...Pontious. He's gotta be sick of the jokes, though most of the heathens that he works with probably don't get it.

Oh, we get it. He was in my newhire class. We started in with the jokes, but he washed his hands of the whole issue. (Jesus, that's funny...!)

We also have several celebrities flying for us: Robert Downey, James Dean, Robert Palmer, to name a few...


Oh by the way, Chunk, isn't there a flight test unit at Patuxtent that always had one or more airplanes with a Playboy bunny-head painted on the tail? I think I remember hearing from an ex-Navy guy that they had to do away with that as more and more women became "aviators."

But I could be mistaken.

It was VX-4 (now VX-9) in Pt Mugu that had/has the F-14 with the Bunny on the tail. We lost it for a while, but it was repainted properly ca. '99-2000.

We also have Kurt Russell. When I was based in ATL I flew a trip with him. When I got home I told my wife Kurt Russell had been on my airplane. She asked if I talked to him and I said "of course." She couldn't believe it when I said he actually flew the airplane a little. She wanted to know if the Captain could've gotten in trouble for letting Kurt Russell fly. When I told her the captain was Kurt Russell she didn't find it very funny.

I knew an Air Force pilot by the last name of Dick. He claimed his sole reason for staying in the Air Force was to get promoted so he could be "Major Dick." A worthy ambition, if you ask me.
