Only airplane dorks where pilots watches.....and none of them use the E6B. Buy something that looks good, and pay attention to the woman instead of the watch. It will get you a lot further.

The lady that helped me pick out my "pilot's watch" told me that you should pay attention to your spelling and grammar instead of the woman.

You'll never use the E6-B function on your watch. Just like you'll never really need "aviator" shades. If you need to make diversion calculations in flight, itll be much less distracting and quicker to whip out a real E6-B from your bag and spin it a few times.

Oh, and does anyone else find it ironic that every real "pilot's watch" is out of any real pilot's salary range? The only a**holes that wear expensive pilot-oriented watches are the guys at the top floor of headquarters who have never stepped into the cockpit of an airplane.

Skippy, you need to forget the E6B crap and go directly for the Breitling Emergency!
It has it's own on board ELT that you will need long before you figure out the rest of the functions on any other watch

I had a Citizen Eco Drive a long time ago with the E6B and the bezel got scratched up so i couldn't read the numbers and the bezel eventually fell off, so a lot of good that did me. Also that thing went thru batteries like crazy.

Batteries?????What's the point of an Eco Drive if your replacing the batteries..doesn't it recharge itself?...I have a Citizen Eco Drive (7 Years Old) and have never had to "change the batteries". Who uses a E6B anymore? I used it to double check my students....GS check......as an Instructor....but I also asked the Center Controller...to double check. Do people have to instruct anymore before they become Airline Pilots or do they get there "ratings" and go to the Airlines?

Jewelry stores are going out of business left and right in this economy, find one and see what you can get. They knocked almost 2 grand off the Breitling Navitimer.

I got a Citizen World time Chronograph for christmas 11 years ago and I love it. I set the hands to my time zone and the digital to whichever time zone I'm in. There's a second digital window which I have set to zulu time. It also has day/date, two alarms and a stopwatch as well as the E-6B. I need a new battery about every year and a half.

After you get the watch that IceMan was fumbling with while he was waiting for Maverick, so he could ask him who was covering Cougar, while Mav was show boating with that Mig.....

Get a regular watch with two time zones..... That is all you need... The Casio Marine is classic....

Anything for a few more 'hits', huh mods?

Does anyone here really think that someone cares about what a regional pilot thinks is the best watch?

Being a little naive here, gentlemen.

Get a timepiece not a watch.

Good: Breitling Navitimer...$3,000

Better: IWC Big Pilot's Watch...$12,000

Best: Patek Philippe World Time...$48,000

Even Better: Timex Expedition w/ Indigo, $24.95 Calculator from Walgreen's @9.95 Use the other $47,965.10 for beer and a health club membership.:D
