Better brush up on your insurance law there sonny. Insurance does not cover intentional torts. So the insurance rates will not and cannot be increased due to this settlement. Looks like you missed out on a good public education as well.

France also has one of the worst unemployment rates of any industrialized country out there. The people in France would piss themselves to have an unemployment rate of 5% like we have in the US.

Got an other misguided socialist garbage to sling at us?

French literacy rate 99%
US literacy rate 95%

CIA Factbook

Ignorant right seater,

NAA is a government contractor (your taxes) as well as the insurance increases for such a settlement affecting your life....I live in France, and the taxes are high, but they have the best public education in the world....something I'm sorry you missed out on.[/q

G21Agoose is amazing. If it was not enough insulting me here on the public forum, he even sent me a private message doing the very same with a little twist to it. WTF is wrong with this guy? We had a earlier series of posts regarding a Grumman Goose accident where he insisted that we were refering to the Chalks accident. His confusion there was understandable, but his attitude displayed here is really strange.

For the record, I spend considerable time in France each year and have found the citizens to be pretty much like everyone else in the world. Some good. Some bad. As for my education, well it's not much I'm afraid, but it served me well during my last forty-five years making a living off of avaition. Nuf said.

Sorry,

But jury awards are out of control and IT DOES affect us all- these awards are passed down to us in the long run.

CIA Factbook

First of all, what the hell is a "CIA Factbook?"

Second of all, where in the hell did I say anything about literacy rates?

Oh I see, you can't argue my points so you just dodge the questions and try to get out of the hole you have dug. You dont have the intellect to debate so lets just try to throw in some useless non-verified stat to try to look smart.

But since you are trying to look all tough and smart I guess it is my job to show everyone here what an absolute moron you are.

The population of the USA is 296,000,000 people.
The population of France is 61,000,000 people.

France has a population 1/5th the size of the USA. If your little "CIA Factbook" stat was true it would make sense that the literacy rate would be smaller in the USA than in France. Becuase with having 4/5ths more people and exposure to illiteracy the USA would have a greater chance of having more illiterate people. As a whole and as a percentage.

Looks like your high taxes are showing a poorer rate of return by the minute. Don't they teach you Frogs statistics in France?

However, keep the idiotic statements coming. It's really fun debating with a clueless uneducated arrogant Frog.

Whoa Kitty,

Calm down little *************************.

Firstly, I am not French but being referred to as a 'frog' reveals your that I am dealing with a lower intelligence and/or a racist.

Secondly, the CIA Factbook is published by the Central Intelligence Agency and is available in your local library (find a map' it's usually a big building in town)

Lastly, to make the math simple 5% of 296 million = 14.8 million (US)
1% of 61 million = 610,000.

But you fail to understand you still have more illiterates PER CAPITA. UNDERSTAND?

Easy on Mega--she's been around this business long enough to know the ups and downs. And you can occassionally spout off without having to be on a period--I'm ovary free and still occassionally shoot from the hip.

As for NAA--they got nailed not to make this captain rich, but to make sure they (and every other chicken-hit outfit out there) understand you cannot compromise safety for expediency. This was a "send a message" judgement. I imagine it will be reduced on appeal. Furloughed Gal is a real attorney--maybe she can pipe in with her opinon.

Final point--Chuck Yogurt--do you EVER post anything positve? Lots of folks here looking for good info...don't know where you work but suspect you have something positive to contribute. Try it--you may like it....

How can you guys not think he deserves even more money. I just left the USAF with no guarantees. I took a big risk leaving a very good job with unmatched security. The stress I felt looking for a job was phenomenol. I have a wife and a couple of youngin's at home and they like to eat and sleep indoors. I was hired at Brown and started here the first week of my terminal leave.

This guy lost his job and his livelihood. He had to worry about things like how to pay his bills, feed his family, and find another job. The emotional toll on him and his family had to have been immense. And all of this was because NAA was wrong. They owed him and I hope he gets every penny. This guy should be considered a hero of sorts for standing up the way he did. It's befuddling to me that everyone is taking shots.

This is perhaps the dumbest defense I have ever heard. "Becuase with having 4/5ths more people and exposure to illiteracy the USA would have a greater chance of having more illiterate people. As a whole and as a percentage" A percentage is just that. Having more people doesn't mean your percentage changes. And throwing out ethnic slurs!!?? That's a smart argument. You're stupid because you're French? Everyone knows the French are stupid because they choose to not bathe, chain smoke, and elect socialists.

He deserves 12 million because no other air carrier will ever hire him. NAA has very likely ended his aviation career. How much is 30 years of flying plus retirement worth to you?

exactly
