I thought this job posting was interesting, Airways wants to trim the fat more or they have discovered problems covering flights......
 
every US Air pilt should apply for this job. whoever gets hired can come up with a model that shows they should hire 2000 more pilots, recall all furloughs and reduce management jobs.

I think almost any pilot could do it too, here's the job description:

Responsible for developing pilot staffing plans and forecasts to adequately support planned level of operations at minimum payroll and training costs.Prepare and present monthly crew staffing analyses of actual pilot payroll hours as compared to forecast.Forecast/monitor flight crew performance data to support management decision-making and insure proper staffing levels for safe and efficient flight operations. Create annual pilot headcount budget to determine future year pilot headcount requirements with periodic updates through the year.Prepare annual and monthly vacation bid offering for pilots and monitor/audit award process.Responsible for preparing, administrating, awarding and defending any required vacancy and/or displacement equipment bids. Maintain Staffing Model adjusting for changes in contractual and behavior crew pay. Act as liaison between Divisional Controller and Crew Planning in matters of pilot staffing hours. Ad hoc projects as required.
**Job Requirements** BS degree required in one of the following related fields: Statistical analysis, Decision science, Economics, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or, extensive relevant experienceExtensive Microsoft Office skills and mainframe computer skillsExcellent analytical skills and aptitude for problem solving. Working knowledge of probability and statistics, regression analysis and forecasting techniques.Able to work independently with minimal supervisionExcellent communication/presentation skillsSelf-motivated, logical and aggressive approach to problem solving.

What they really need is a post that says: Looking to hire someone to exlain why we're the worst airline in the skys with pissed off employees and passengers. Nope, instead we get:(translated) Looking to hire someone to screw over our most important asset our employees. This is in hopes of sqeezing out a few bucks to disperse to our upper management. Hmmmmmmm. Me thinks everyone above the Chief Pilot in management should be nuked if they ever want any improvements around here.
