I went by my local flight school and was talking to the instructor to get some insight from him.

He told me that out of the 10 students he has 7 are from India, 2 are a husban and wife team and one is a business man who wants to fly to meetings by himself. None are going to be be looking for jobs at any US regionals or charter companies.

There will be a shortage of pilots. As a result it will be very easy to get a low paying crappy job as an airline pilot. Nothing else will change.

As will every one of the majors face the loss of around a pilot every day or so, put all the airlines in the same pool fishing for pilots and the pool will be fished out. They will strip the regional and then go after the fogged mirror approach like the 60's

Still waiting

Been doing the corporate pilot thing for 25 years. I keep hearing about this shortage but i'm still waiting for the mystical pilot shortage unicorn to materialize in my little corner of the aviation uiverse.
