I'll put my vote in for telex's as well, although i wear some decent earplugs during takeoff (1200rpm) once it comes back to 1050 i take them out.

but then i hear that pdt has some weird 1200 climb out thing so i guess when i transition/upgrade there i'll prolly end up keeping the plugs in longer
(yeaaah, right i will, their comin back to 1050 for climbs)

steveair......thanks, for your info, but people are looking for real info not "i heard" info about PDT training. Go back to flying your PA-44/PA-28 and let the 121 operators anwer the questions in the regional sections....we'll let you answer the flight instructor questions!
Hey thats cool!! Its sweet that you like to put down guys who are just offering what they know. oh yeah you were probably born a 121 pilot. gimme a break. I will go back to my PA-44 also so you can get back to bashing people. mister big man. wow i cant wait to be just like you.

Competitive Times

Was wondering what the people coming on board have these days....

Got one answer but I think the source is some what week.

thanks

You calling me weak son? :)

Okay really! People coming to PDT right now are from anywhere between 500hrs to about 1000hrs. The mins used to be 1500-500multi, however since we can't find anyone with exprience willing to come fly props we are having to take low time people!
So again, read careful my son!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IF THE INK IS DRY ON YOUR COMM/MULTI CERTIF. THEN SEND PIEDMONT A RESUME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure where that came from. The props are set to 1050 at 1500' AGL, with the option (but not recommendation) of 900.

Go for the 750, or use the one's that are in the airplane. Your head won't feel like its been in a vice all day, and the captain you're flying with will appreciate not having to yell at you. Not many guys use the hotmic here.

So all of the aircraft have crew headsets in them? If so are they the FAA type headsets without a mike or are they similiar to the Telex?

well, i'll put that to the test. i sent them a resume with my whopping 555/176

Does anyone know where their bases are?

Thanks.
CLT Charlotte, NC
EWN New Bern, NC
CHO Charlottesville, VA
PHF/ORF Newport News/Norfolk, VA
ROA Roanoke, VA
SBY Salsibury, MD

Headsets in the airplanes are Planetronics. Not the best, but adequate.

How long before you could bid Charlotte as a new-hire? How many trips (commutes) per month in a typical schedule?

Everyone that was going to apply to PDT might want to hold on for a while. The Dec. 21st interviews scheduled were all canceled as of today. Apparently, the training dept. is about to start the Alleghaney transition and will be busy for that for a while. No future date was given for interviews. My luck seems to continue......

That's correct. Apparently Airways reduced the amount of flying PDT was supposed to do next year, thanks to the financing for more RJs. Consequently, the original hiring projections have been reduced, and training resources allocated to ALG pilots, who will start transition training in January.

Also, it may be moot right now, but the junior FOs in CLT have only a few months of seniority.
