well, i doubt anyone would do anything with the address and stuff if i didn't block that out, and anyone who would probably wouldn't know they could look it up with the certificate number, but i fixed it anyway :\

Those are great shots. I hope you don't mind, but number 22 is now my desktop wallpaper.

Congratulations. What's the name of the school or CFI?

i don't mind that you used it as a wallpaper, and i can send you the original, bigger version if your resolution is higher than 1024x768

this is where i did the training http://www.arctic.net/~cubpilot/ and i would definitely recommend it

edit: did anyone notice the microphone button in #47? :)

That looks a lot like Crescent Lake. Is it? Moose Pass?

I wanted to strangle the jacka$$ that was doing touch-n-goes at Crescent Lake after I had hiked 8 hours getting to a cabin, only to hear a frickin' airplane buzzing the cabin I rented. Forgive my rant if I'm mistaken.

Bunnyfufu,

congrats, The float rating was the most enjoyable rating to get, and the one I've enjoyed the most since. I got mine with that outfit, in fact I got it in thae airplane in picture 48. They were operating out of Lake Hood back then.

No, thanks. It's a perfect fit and looks great. I just put the school on my "things to do" list...long term, of course.

Congrats thats awesome!!

I would never make it flying in Alaska. I would be too busy checking out the beautiful scenery and probably crash into something...:D

Nothing like the Kenai Penn, so far from civilization yet real close.Get down to the AK Penn now that is wild country.Nice pics.

Nice pictures! They look calendar quality. Are you a professional photographer?

CCdiscoB

I certainly agree with you about the quality of the pictures by bunnyfufu. By looking at his ticket in frame 55, his date of birth is 30 Nov 1985. At 17 years of age, if he has not aleady decided on a career, he could do worse than being a pro photographer. Made me want to plan a vacation to AK. Maybe the tourism bureau could hire him on!

Really remarkable photos. Thanks for putting them up!

HEY...

I recognize that Moose, he resides at Big Game Alaska, located off the Seward Highway near Portage.

I think those are clocks.

Thanks, guys. For the life of me I couldn't figure out, either. Of course, I've had a digital watch for so long that I can't figure out the time looking at those clocks!

Seriously, those are incredible pictures!! Very well done. I must say, after 109 degrees in Dallas yesterday those pictures do have me thinkin' 'bout packin' my bags!!

Great pictures! I think that Alaska has to be the ultimate location to get your sea-plane rating! Unfortunately, I guess I will just get mine here in NC. Maybe I will get to put it to use up there one day though.... :D

You take those moose and bear pics?!?! carefull man, those things will get you hurt!!

Seriously, these are nice! I'm just a hack, but it sure looks like you have an eye for creating a good composition with those landscapes, etc. didn't think that Nikon will zoom in too much. How'd you get those animal pics? Walk up to them?!

the bear and moose were in Big Game Alasaka, which is basically a big zoo except i think they only have injured animals there. both pictures were taken through fences, and the fence for the bear was an electric fence. the camera only has a 3x optical zoom

I am very traditional when it comes to photography having spent years trying to perfect my technique with a 35mm Nikon FG. Last year I broke down and bought a Fuji Finepix 3.2 and have been very impressed with it. It makes me look like a genius. Out of 100 photos on the 35mm, I was getting 3-5% frameable. With the digital, I'm averaging 40-50%, not including the ones I delete.

Those sure were some great pictures, and you just added me to a future Alaskan trip with the family ( or hiking with some friends),

I have one question though, how easy/hard is is to rent a seaplane somewhere once you have your rating? I've heard that it is pretty hard unless you have an X amount of time on floats or amfibs. I would like to get my seaplane rating now that I saw this. But is is a little feasible to expect to walk up to anyplace and be able to rent a plane for a few days with a modest check out off course

HAHA thats great!

I was at BIG GAME a few days ago. With a good zoom and a carefully chosen background folks back home will think you were 15ft from a "real" bear in the wild!!

Its a good cause too, well worth the couple of bucks to get in!

those moose love to pose for you also.

Bunnyfufu, those are some great pictures.

Are you that good a photographer, or is it the camera that should get the credit? I'm looking to replace my Olympus and after seeing your pictures, I'll definitely be looking at the Nikon.

Best of luck with the new rating.

well, i should at least get credit for subject choice, composition, and touching up in photoshop, but it does seem like a nice camera. i can send you some unedited pictures if you want
