So, lets hear your opinions on 91k? Good? Bad? Indifferent?
Are you a schedular?

"license to screw with pilots schedules" Not anymore!

It's going to get interesting.

They could use us for 14 hours a day before and they will be able to use us for 14 hours a day now.

The single biggest difference with 91k: They will have to decide which 14 hours they want to use us at least 10 hours in advance.

Doesn't sound like a big difference but it's going to create a nightmare for operations.

I would be interested in what the puzzle palace people think about it all.

Nope, I am actually a flight manager. That statement was meant to be taken with a hint of sarcasim. IT'S ALWAYS MY FAULT!
The pilot group has figured out it's not the FMs fault, we know exactly who is responsible for all the garbage that comes our way. Things are going to get very ugly for the next few months, don't take it personally. Management chose the hard road, not the pilots. Hopefully they are smart enough to fix it before this place goes under. I still love Dispatch, they are the best thing that NJA has going for them in the Casino.

Day 2 under 91k ops...sat around all day yesterday beacasue THEY broke our aircraft overnight....11 hour turn, back out for 5 legs...bad boost pump. Here we sit again.

Just a reminder....BB an Shamtulli are in charge of this....they waited till the last week to work out the bugs....THEY voted in SU...THEY created this work enviorment...THEY were the ones playing games with the contract....they made this bed now they are climbing in for thier first nights sleep and it is full of bugs.

We are not asking for ANYTHING more than coroporate operators make, we are asking for industry average pay for our equipment and work conditions.

If we were paid the same percentage of industry average wages that we are paid here we would make the following:

*Teacher 14k a year
*Secretary 14k a year
*Garbage man 20k a year
*Lawyer 35k a year
*Doctor 40k a year

Captains of jet aircraft make over 100k a year....that may sound like a lot a money, but it is a fact. We went to school, trained, gained experience at paultry pay to get to an experience level where we are now. We can lose our medical at anytime. We can lose our license at any time. Senority doesn't transfer, if we leave we start at the bottom.

JUST GIVE US WHAT WE DESERVE

I'll second that, the guys/gals that pick up the phone after every freakin' leg and have to listen our droning about food, or hotels or transportation are only the messengers. They are generally helpful and sympathetic to our needs. I appreciate what they do and what they are up against. When I come to CMH I spend as little time as possible upstairs, I cannot imagine spending 8+hrs a day in that enviorment. Thanks for all you do for us out on the road.

The flight managers also just went to hourly pay vs salary. Maybe THEY need a union.

91K is good. The fatigue calls will increase 1000%

Long overdue increase in Safety.

The cost will be MORE CREWS will be necessary to staff for Demand. I would estimate 7 pilots per aircraft will be required if we want to run these ships 24/7 or at least have them manned by Reserve pilots meet the on-demand nature of the business.

At a fractional with about 380 planes the pilot force should be about 2660. We are over 600 pilots short if we want to comfortably comply with the new rules.

I think fatigue calls will spike, especially for the crews given 0001 local show, particularly if they have to sit in their cars due to the FBO being closed. I also think 91K is the leverage that the union and MEC have wanted for upcoming negotations.

Pilots and Flight Managers are going to be caught in the middle until management and the union reach a new TA to address the "challenges" that 91K presents.

Just my $0.02.

Gunfyter hit the nail on the head. 91K will require MORE CREWS to support the demand. Because crew duty lines now have to be set prior to shutdown we will need more crews on duty at various FBO's to support he 24/7 ops. Ferrying to drop a/c into these FBO's for the "new" crews will increase. Many crews will be brought on earlier and held on later to give us recovery options. Owners, however, will continue to book new trips after crews are shutdown and a/c will continue to break in the middle of the night.

Sorry to say it, but it's going to suck for all of us (at least for a while) until we work out some of the bugs of course. The good news is that you should be able to manage your rest better under 91K as your showtimes cannot be changed.

My $0.02

91K is good....Scheduling is bad....Need the ability to see the big picture at the begining of the day, not the end....

Maybe 6 months from now it will settle into good for everyone...

BTW I love the FM's and I know their jobs suck being caught in the middle of this crap...
