Bid posted today on company website. Effective 5/1/09.

Wonderful.

Wow only 20? That's great news compared to what many thought it was going to be. Is this the final word or will it change more this summer? 20 is a heck of a lot less then ANY other airline out there.

This bid reflects a reduction of Twelve (12) Captain positions and Twenty (20) First Officer positions.

Hey Sig, I guess you get to hang onto that stripe for a few more months. Eh, I was getting tired of reserve anyway.

DAMN.

If I get displaced to LGA, I'll need a letter from the Chief to allow me to grow a beard. Shaving would be too dangerous.

This sucks for 20 furloughees much worse than "having" to "work" in "LGA." I rethought my post, and I'm leaving it untouched. It was an attempt at humor.

Noooo! No senior guys to LGA!

Totally sucks, for you guys. And for the guy that asked, there will be a lot more furloughs coming this Fall. Hey Buddy is even LESS enthusiastic about the other 7 planes than Navy boy is...

He's not a CEO.

Okay. I let it slide on the other thread. Now? Here ya go:

When the ice was falling out of the sky in DCA, who made the call to send planes in? SF

When the ice was falling in PHL, and we couldn't depart, who forced dx to send the planes in? SF

We ran out of gates, parking, and in 20 some odd hours equipment for the following 2 days. Those of us on the line at the time begged them to stop. The imbecile that chiefly had executive power? That brownshod decision nearly put the first Dash into the ground. Like them plugs? His dumbass decision led to it. SF

When we CAN enable the software to build better lines? SF says no.

When we asked for a bit more pay? NO.

The stain has more power than you know, and since it is operational in scope, it hammers you and I.

It hammers the operation, because he is stupid. It hammers us because he is an executive with the power to do so, yet the inability to effectively make our airline operation better.

Ground operation? I don't know. He has special experience in that. The stupid PSA merger pipe dream? Silly. The PDT as a ground operation? Oh, hell yes! We are a ground operation.

**

I could easily cite many, but I'll stop at one.

Who signs the contract? Dougweiser? No. The CEO of our airline.

Dude everything you mentioned is way below a CEO's scope. Those are operational decisions and yes he decides those things...because he's more of a DO rather than a CEO. He takes instruction and implements it. The decisions don't begin with him.

You people give him way too much credit.

You people give him way too much credit.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

No, I give him every bit of shabby credit he deserves! But the power of this scabby little wall-walking squid is built into his marriage license.

We HAVE a DO. We HAVE a CEO.

You know what? This is out of line.

Let me correct something- yes, these are functions well below a well managed operation's CEO.

And that's the Failboat right there. We are NOT well managed, we do NOT have a competent CEO drawing about 30K a month (oops! Shouldn't let that out, Squiddy), and it all points to a "rule by fear, misinformation and lies" paradigm that works awfully well for a micromanaging cuttlefish.

Here we are. Let us please move forward.

ok I'm not sure what the point of your rant was but I hope you feel better.

He is a CEO in title only.

1. I hope you feel better.

2. He is a CEO in title only.

1)True, I do think you hope that-

2) and fsc|{ing false.

Semantics will kill us.

You are brilliant. Shine, dude. Shine.

Light a match.

I'm so sorry guys. You all deserve way better than the s--- sandwiches you keep getting (and I'm not referring to just the crew meals).

The morons in Tempe tell him what and where to operate. It's up to the goons in SBY to make it happen. Back in '05 SF stopped micromanaging the place for a few hours. Staffing levels went up, junior manning ceased, the union was working with the company through much of the few issues that were popping up.

Then, a bunch of folks started leaving because even with the relative peace and quiet that was happening, there was still little movement, and no new airplanes. Add in the two base closures and general unhappiness that goes along with it. Farrow started his micromanaging again.

While he isn't responsible for no growth, and losing airplanes, the SOB IS responsible for your lousy schedules, crew meals, Penny, etc. He has the technology to change all of that.

Give credit where credit is due. The man has tried to "out Henson" Mr. Henson for too many years.

We can all sit back and talk about Farrow all day long, but it doesn't change the fact that we are losing Pilots and Downgrading Captains. This company along with ALG have gone from about 110 planes to now 45 or so.

It would be better to keep a level head and show more soldiarity as a pilot group.

Piedmont will most likely become a ground only service company in the not so distant future. So I say lets get what we can while we can.
Contract is coming up, we are the lowest paid 50 seat operators and QOL issues need to be worked on. They own 33 planes and have leases on the D-300's until 2014. This gives us leverage!

Screw it if Farrow is a CEO or not! He reports to Dougie Parker and with that we can make his life hell if this pilot group will just come together as one!

Our pilots need to become more active with our union leaders. Its now or never people!

If we are gonna go out, lets go out kicking!

Surf posted everything I was going to say. I agree with everything he said here!

If we are going down, we are going down swinging. I for one will not be a part of a pilot group who could ever be accused of lowering the bar.

I agree completely.

Looking forward to negotiations.
