Flow up creates 3 training events, hire off the street and there is only one. Why would any company agree to this?

The New List

A new CEL list has been released. It may have been around for a while, but it is new to those not at the WOs.

It's new Title is "Piedmont/PSA/Republic Combined Eligibility List" and is dated January 1, 2007. It is apparently available on the PDT pilot's ALPA web site and maybe available at PSA's ALPA web site. Republic has nothing on theirs, but that's no surprise as the purpose of the list has nothing to do with Republic, only APL (the former CEL) who are employed there.

It includes all former CEL pilot's who are currently or will be (by July 9) on the LCC Payroll. All CEL and APL who used to be CEL are listed by their relative seniority, WO DOH, their current employer and employee number, and DOB.

The inclusion of former CEL pilots who are already on the US Airways System Seniority List now on the new CEL indicates that the respective WO MECs will seek to re-instate ghost numbers and flow up to Mainline in relative seniority as per their new list.

Totally untrue. No move to reinstate ghost numbers per three members of the PDT merger/flow committee I personally asked.

Have fun stirring the pot, though.

If that is untrue, why the inclusion of the APL names? If it is untrue, there is no need for those names to appear on the new list.

It doesn't matter! People are leaving the WO'ed reguardless of a flowthru! So they are still having to train at the WO'ed and US Airways will still have to hire off the street!

Remember, the flowthru would be nice.......... But then again your flowing to the worst Airline Carrier in the country in terms of pay and service!!!!! Yepppppie!!!! Sign us all up for that!!!

I would imagine many people would us the flowthru as a stepping stone to a better carrier!!! aka Delta, Southwest, UPS and Fedex!!!!

CEL List

There were a lot of names on that list that are not at PSA anymore. Some had been gone for 30 days or more when the list was made. There are a lot more that have left since then. Probably another 10% or more gone by now.

How does the flow create 3 training events? I can only come up with two, one of which would occur regardless for a total of one extra training event. If you consider that the pilot who flows up would likely not remain at the WO without the flow (leaving and creating a vacancy) then the whole thing is a wash anyway.

1 at mainline that would occur either way.
1 CA at WO
1 FO at WO

But then again PDT doesn't hire enough anyway, so really it would just lead to more parked aircraft
