Well, that did not last long. The Pinnacle Chief Pilot was terminated today; at least, that is what several sources are telling me. He was NOT returned to the line....he was flat out terminated. Have not heard the cause but it better be good.

WTF? And NOT returned to the line? Can't wait to hear the spin on this one. Sorry 9E guys. Thought that was a positive change for you.

YGTBFSM!!

Man, I hate that for ya, Don. I know you're still lurking on here, hope your grievance moves fast and you get back on the line.

Let me know if there's anything I can do for ya', even though I'm way out in ATL.

I am here...

I am praying that my brothers and sisters will help the wrong to become a right...

I can only hope for a few I made a difference.

Don,

Thanks for your tireless service. It floors me that this lasted 29 days. Your pilot brothers are behind you all the way. I'm hoping you have a big check in your future.

Don, give me a call this weekend.

Don,

You helped save my career and my thoughts and prayers are most certainly with you. I truly hope the best comes from this situation. You're one of the finest pilots and gentlemen out there.

Don

I heard the news yesterday and was shocked...Hopefully the MEC will be able to get you back through the grievance process...Godd luck to you

Hi guys, I know this is private info you are talking about, and a good person's life was impacted by a rotten management trick.

However, we all know that the managers have their clubs where they gather and share their new tricks. With that in mind, could you please give even a sketchy outline of what happened to your chief?

It actually would benefit others to hear what happened so we could all have an idea of what kind of BS to be on the lookout for.

Thanks.

That's sorta what I was wondering. I mean 29 days? And Don was challenged at every turn during those 29 days. Sounds kinda fishy.

This is what is really ludicrous.....

We are severly short of pilots. In both seats. Don was ready to just come back to the line....where we really need him. But instead, they decided to completely fire him. How does that make any real sense?

If I was Don, and the termination was actionable on a legal basis outside the RLA (discriminatory practice, hostile work environment, wrongful termination), I'd sue the piss out of them, take my cash, and move along to another airline.

In the past, PCL has paid out MILLIONS of dollars in these settlements AND cleared the records of the pilots (and flight attendants) who sued.

The highest dollar amount was just shy of $1 Million (around $800-850k) and that pilot is currently flying for jetBlue. One who settled for just shy of $700k is also flying PIC Part 121 again (I testified in his termination lawsuit).

The only way to teach PCL management a lesson is to spank them where it counts... the pocketbook. Looks like they have forgotten some lessons of the past and need a refresher course.

Take the money and RUN! Good luck to you, buddy...

what happened is that Don saved a crapload of pilots from getting canned in the past while working C3, and the fact that Don is well liked by the pilot group. Managment knew that it would be difficult to get rid of him so the came up with this B.S.
