excert from a meeting at Tweed New Haven Airport. They were discussing their future when Airways pulls the Dash-8 out. Its probably no coincidence that they have been working on the runway there. Probably want to make it long enough for a jet...

e) Mr. Billowitz gave additional detail on the airline Networking Conference, with reference to discussions with US Airways. US Airways intends to retire the Dash-8 aircraft over the next 3 to 4 years. They did not identify the replacement aircraft or give an indication when this would affect Tweed. The US Airways representative said we are in “good shape” and should not worry. He also confirmed with the route planners that US Airways impression of Tweed is favorable.

Update your resume mofos!!

5600ft will work just fine for a CRJ. However winter ops. would have a severe load restriction with snow or ice.

As an aside:

It's PAN PAN repeated three times. Sounds like, "pawn pawn, pawn pawn, pawn pawn."

Maybe republic will underbid everybody and fly the the 175 into tweed. They'll still be able to fill it to capacity with peeps and fuel. That plane is amazing and republic pilots don't fly for the money the fly for the love of flying which makes them better pilots and capable of amazing feats.

Saw one of those guys walking through E Concourse in CLT the other day. Dude was so small it looked like the weight of his fourth stripe was going to crush him.
