Well, what can you do. Too bad for those folks. I lucked out and finished everything with no debt at various Mom and Pop shops. Turned out to be the best way possible. Had a former Blue Angels CO for an instructor as well as a former astronaut. Good luck fell on my shoulders you could say.

Nevertheless, don't let anyone you give a *#$! about go to a pilot farm...it just leaves holes in their total experience. What's the big deal anyways about rushing to become Captain Airline Pilot? Life is all about when its really best for you to advance. You never know when that is until it happens and you realize, "oh yeah" I'm actually ready for this.

All the promises made by the glossy ads in Flying magazine makes me sad about our industry. I just hate that some folks are jaded by their daddy's wallet and tromp off to the flight farms to become the next Bob Buck.

I digress. Blessings to all.

Here's a couple gems I found from this story:

"The company has 107 full- and part-time employees. About half of the full-time workers will be offered jobs in Arizona or at other Pan Am locations, Blas said."

Some Pan Am flight students, such as Matt Gieraltowski, 24, of Pittsburgh, said they aren't sure what to do next. Gieraltowski cannot break his lease, so he will be here at least until July and is not sure whether he'll go to Phoenix. "I'm just as mad as everyone else is," he said. "It's a raw deal. I've been here since last June."

"

Another student, Ken Munger, 22, moved from Chicago in August and figures he'll probably move again because of the school's good job placement connections with airlines. "I don't want to go to Phoenix, but if I have to I'll go," he said."

Guess we are going to have another instructor wave in Florida,
when ATA went belly-up everybody had like 75 resume's on their desk.
We are still looking for an instructor.....
So sent me an email before they shut down on you.

There is no academy in Miami, just SIMCOM. They are closing the Ft. Pierce location.
