So our good friends at Palwaukee Flyers have struck again.... this time, a C150 (the one that replaced the one that crashed 5 miles away from the runway due to fuel starvation) landed on a frozen lake... Is Jim just waiting for his first death to shut down? I know that sounds bad but this is getting ridiculous. 3 crashes in 6 months, 2 Sundowners and this, actually, the Sierra went down last year too, unbelievable. I will get more info tomorrow from my inside source, but for now enjoy the story and pics. Oh and Jim can go and die.

Small plane makes emergency landing on frozen Grays Lake

No injuries were reported after a small single-engine airplane registered to a flight school in Wheeling landed on icy Grays Lake about 4:30 p.m. today, authorities said.
Grayslake Fire Department Capt. Peter Nowak said the pilot apparently had wanted to land at Campbell Airport near the village, but then chose to touch down on the ice when the plane had mechanical problems. He said the plane was close to a house at 226 S. Lake St.
Nowak said the pilot and a passenger walked away unharmed. Fire department reports didn't have the names of the passenger or pilot.
The plane, a 1972 Cessna 150L, is registered the Flight Center at Service Aviation, Inc. of Wheeling.
Mechanics were called from Chicago Executive Airport near Wheeling to work on the plane, Nowak said."

"Chose," eh?

HAHA! you know Jim is on his way to Larry's right now in Evanston, to give him a rim job. The funny thing is alot of the incidents happen on intro flights, or those weekend get aways. Can't believe he still runs the place, a kwasek plane has landed in every city north of PWK and not at airports.

I'm curious, what FSDO jurisdiction is this operation in?

Jim and Larry parted ways a long time ago noballs. You should get your facts straight, as usual.

Listen, we all know you're not Jimmy, so quit acting like you are him or defending him. Do you pray for the day Jimmy walks on your 145 and you can take a bathroom break to go play hide and seek with Jimmy.

maybe so.

So does anybody know the particulars? I'm sure the pilot would much rather have landed at Campbell! So what were the "mechanical problems"?

Don't any specific details..but my roommate who still has ties up there said the IP/student just said screw it & chocked the tires on the lake and split. I don't know how true it is but I sure got a laugh out of it. Glad they are ok!

Cheers

Jim is going to be in some trouble for this one, today I was over at hangar 5 flying a friends Cirrus, and saw N747KA sitting in the back of the hangar without any of the wings, talking with one of the instructors I found out that the DPA FSDO is snooping around, something about the engine logbooks being incomplete.

Jim won't be in any trouble, he always gets away with ******************** liek that, just like Mesa is still in operation.

Some details (comes from inside the school). The pic was a renter, has his ATP, good guy. Doing some pattern work at Campbell when they lost a cylinder. A C150, with two people, with one missing cylinder isn't the most performing ac, lol. He decided to land on the lake, he saw snowmobiles on it that how is figured it was ok to land there (I would still be super nervous about it). The guy tried to call JIm to help out buut Jim didn't answer so the guy said f-it and left (he talked to somebody else about it tho).

Logbook problems? Hah, if the logbook still has all its pages... that thing was overhauled by their mechanics when they decided to open an "engine shop" which didn't last long.

I hope and pray that the FSDO actually does something to this c ockmunch.
