The problem with the big scenario above is

crap in and crap out... We had pref bid, crap went in and crap came out... Junior or senior... It was crap..We are now without, and majority like it better... The work rules should be PILOT ONLY waivable... That works, but at the end of the day, if your company puts in s#it, that is ALL that you are going to get... And we had some guys whoring the hell out of the system prior to pref bid... The they went broke, just like the rest of us....Kume-by-ah sounds really good with the warm and fuzzy management/pilot relationship that happens in fairy tales, but in real life, unless there are iron clad, punitive damage causing repercussions for tweaking or violating a PBS, good luck.

If the company could build efficent pairings they would currently under the present contract. PBS does not create pairings it builds lines according to the to the entered prefs. When will people get it PBS is a line builder it does not build the pairings if the pairings suck then the lines will suck. I worked at a commuter that had no set number of days off between pairings and we where still inefficent. Same story here nothing to see; No matter how good a contract you have if the company will not follow the current contract how can we expect them to follow a new contract. I say hell no to PBS; they can not be trusted will talk next time. Pay depreciates, QOL never does!!!!

Gearthrower for President!!!!!
Amen
Pay raise with QOL.

It works well with a large base with many trips overlapping each other (thus providing enough variations) and it sucks with a small base.

I read this that it won't work well with the many-bases-for-us system the company seems to want to emplement...

I'm open-minded, but they'll have an uphill battle trying to convince me and the masses that this will work well for us.

That is a good point. Small bases are not good for PBS.

Two contracts and a third in negotiations we have never created a pairing at this airline as a union. And it has been in both contracts, now we are going to have a committe each month create all the pairings using AD-OPT the pairing optimizer and Kronos the PBS systems to make our lives better and if it does not work the company will just walk away from it. This is a huge investment and gamble for them. If an when they send out a TA to the members be very certain that we own the program and can stop it if it does not work. My opinion is they will have a back door in the language that will allow them to just implement it without our concurence. Be very suspicious of them they do not live up to their agreements. 321 pay, Iternational Pay, Interational duty. This are small potatoes and they screw us every month on these. What do you think PBS will be like?

Besides the Air Inc job fair in DFW on Saturday, are there any more job fairs that Spirit will be attending in the next couple of weeks?

How does bidding bases work at Spirit? Is it for each month? When will the bidding be for the new bases?

On another note, anyone know how to keep your resume from getting messed up when you paste it in the online application?
