be200 + deer = mess

Reminds me of when Santa Clause got his annual line check
from the FAA.

The FAA inspector crawls onto Santa's sleigh with a shotgun.

"What are you going to do with that?" inquires St. Nick.

"You're going to lose one on takeoff."

Now, THAT's Funny. Just so long as it isn't Rudolf. He won't be able to fly at all if Rudof gets it.

It won't be rudolf, he is in line with the centerline. It would be a "critical" deer. :D

Not according to the MEL...he just can't go at night. He also takes a 450 pound hit from the RAM (Rooftop Analysis Manual) for each reindeer that's inop.

If he loses three or more, it's gotta be a static takeoff.

Do you know if they got to keep the deer? What did they use to get it on the runway for the kill? A salt lick or feed? Did the authorities accuse them of spotlighting with their landing light?

If it were me, I would sharpen up those props for the next round to get a cleaner kill.

When they get the repair bill for that prop, they're going to want to kill the deer. Good thing it's already dead!

But, doesn't he have to have a beacon on in order to fly? Does Rudolf's nose blink?

Well, since he was operating over five hundred years before the FAR's were written, they've grandfathered a lot of stuff for him. For example, you notice he doesn't have an "N" number displayed. It'd be a shame to get him mixed up with all the other nine-reindeer-powered sleighs that are flying around. (I think Great Lakes has a couple...)

Does anybody know what kind of equipment Hanukkah Harry is operating these days? :D

I saw the results once when a C-5 hit a deer on the runway. They found the rack (which was about all they found) and mounted it with a plaque underneath that said "In support of operation Provide Venison". :p

I'm surprised there was so little damage to the airplane (at least that which is obvious).

I saw the aftermath of what a deer did to a Shorts a few years back and the damage was simply amazing. Wing strut, wheel fairing, prop damage, you name it.

On a serious, well not to serious note,
Wouldn't they have to do a gearbox teardown after a hit like that? Maybe an engine teardown?

Not just any Dradle... Its the TurboShavted Dradle 12, with the option of Yamaka overspeed protection.
