Mergers only take place between healty companies. If anything happened with FLOPS it would be an acquisition... Big, big difference..........

Do you mean between healthy companies such as AMR and TWA, USAir and AmWest? Actually, healthy companies see an unhealthy comany with reduced valuation and add value to it through the acquisition.

At the time of the TWA acquistion AMR was very healthy. The USair AMwest thing, still baffels me. If and it is a big if, anything goes down with FLOPS and NJA, it is more a fact of Raytheon wanting out of the fractional business and them throwing money at RTS to take it away. Again not a merger.....

The US Air/AmWest merger makes perfect sense looking at the route structure. Minimal overlap creates potential for easy transition and growth. The financial aspect is a curious thing though. Then again, since the courts allow these folks to continue to operate without paying the crews or bills, no big deal. The courts don't seem to care that they drag everyone else down with them in the long run.

I just got back from ICT after spending a wonderful week out there....the folks at the Cessna facility are buzzing with some news that NetJets is planning to announce soon. No one knew exactly what but people there were very excited.......
