By the way Hobbes, Dime Line, and the many "personas" like you...I have to compliment you on your ability to clutter the board with accusational bs rather than actually answering WHY THE H**L HAVE THE LAWYERS BEEN LETTING FLOPS GET AWAY WITH THIS ALL THIS TIME???? They've vilated everything on the books, yet the PAID lawyers do NOTHING. ANSWER THAT rather than accusing me of being one of your opponent goons!

Kinda sorta agree with you.......BUT.......how much money do you think it will take to sue the company, How much time do you think it will take? And what do you reasonably expect to be the outcome? No more 10hr rest, crew meals.

You need to understand we (you and I) are still AT WILL employees (even states that exact thing in the employee manuel). we are still at the mercy of management. And no I'm not paid to be on this board. Just trying to do my part to fix this company

Hey "VOICE OF STUPIDITY"- what have you done to stop management from changing our quality of life? Do you work overtime, fly broke, fly hungry, fly sick, answer the phone with less than 10 hrs rest? No, then there is your answer- you no longer have too because of the IBT and the lawyers.
I bet when we get a contract and respectful pay increase you"ll take it. Will you then thank the lawyers in BIG BOLD WORDS?

Interesting how you always show up at pivotal moments in the unions evolution. During the organizing campaign and now as we approach the two year mark.

Tell ya what sport, I'll try to answer your question about the lawyers if:

1.You tell me what specific RLA violations you believe the lawyers should be contesting.

2.Assuming (and it's a charitable assumption) you are a fight options pilot, what have you done to help your union, have you volunteered for committee work, have you paid one cent of dues, have your worked OT, have you ignored the union's emphasis on safety and whored yourself out, by violating FAR's? What have you done to help?

Unless you've done your part along the way, you really have no right to criticize. Do ya?

Voice, first of all, you are obviously a management piece of sh*t. Secondly, FLOPS will get a contract when they start the HARD fight. No OT, go over the planes with a fine comb, don't do ANYTHING extra. From what I hear, there are still way too many guys working with the company at FLOPS. For those of you that are not working with the company, keep up the good fight. For those of you that are, you are hurting yourself and your fellow pilots. And Voice, kiss my a**!

Nice try though...I always love it when you try to distract everyone with that same script rather than answer WHY the lawyers are being paid to do NOTHING all this time...and if not what HAVE they done?
Oh yeah, I forgot, it's the "lawyers" that got the work rules already supposed to have been followed "enforced" right? NOT!
A couple questions for you.

1) Which lawyers are you talking about? Ford & Harrison? Or the union's lawyers? What exactly are these lawyers supposed to be doing that they're not? What do the lawyers have to do with it anyway?

2) If 1108 is so bad, and management sucks, what exactly is your solution?

BTW, I hope NJA does force Options out of business. That is the nature of business and competition. Unfortunately, my opinion is in the minority among my 1108 brethren, who don't want to see you guys out of a job. I don't necessarily, either, but I'd rather see your company fail than mine. FWIW.
 
OK Voice, I'll bite

The lawyers (for the Union) haven't done anything because they don't have anything that they can go into court with and win. The RLA protects the integrity of transportation that is considered "essential" to American infrastructure giving management a significant advantage from the outset.

The simple fact is that until there is a legally binding contract in place, management can do almost anything they want. management (intentionally not capitalized) is represented by the very best attorneys money can buy. Where would that money be better invested, in attorneys who are interesed in billable hours or in a pilot group that can and will make the system work?

FLOPS management will only agree to 3.5 days per month, that is it. Nothing was requested by the FLOPS managers.

It is NOT official that management has called for additional negotiations days in January or any other time. To the contrary, union negotiators have formally, in writing, proposed to management that we increase the number of days we meet and to date management has repeatedly denied them. Who ever you are being fed this information from either has no clue what he is speaking of or you are intentionally being given false information for some other management motive.

To Voice of reason I have just one question. What specifically are you beating your "what are the lawyer doing" drum about.
 
When management instigates a fight with a strong group of professional union pilots by failing to provide professional job security, wages, benefits, and working conditions real professional union pilots don’t call the lawyers. Unlike management, professional union pilots won’t hide behind lawyers – professional union pilots don’t ask others to do the heavy lifting for them – professional union pilots won’t ask attorneys to do their dirty work (like cowardly management), if you will. Professional union pilots step into the fight and don’t back down; the fight that management initiated and only management can end. With a chilling degree of ice in their veins these professional union pilots perform day-in-and-day-out to the highest professional standards – as they should.

Any pilot that depends on lawyers to fight lost that fight well before it ever started. The lawyers aren’t in the ring exchanging blows - they’re in the corner giving advice – keeping score – and some acting as a “cut man.” The pilots are in the ring with management. Remember, management initiated this fight and only management has the ability to end it.

In life, never ask anyone else to do the heavy lifting or dirty work unless you want a half assed job; figuratively and literally. The lawyers can kiss my back side – I will take a strong professional union pilot, or group of pilots, every day of the week. Then let the lawyers mop up.

Why is it [amateur] management always feels and acts like they are better, smarter, and superior to pilots? Why does [amateur] management insist on putting personal pride before sound business practices? Why is it [amateur] management always feels like they are dealing with “weak” white color professionals with no backbone, eager to capitulate? If it wasn’t proven to be so stupid time and time again, it would be laughable… Unfortunately, management drug every pilot’s family into this fight and that is where this [amateur] management lost this fight well before it started, no matter how long it takes. Never drag a pilot’s family through the [capitalistic union busting] mud and ask the pilot to turn a blind eye later. The pilot can always find a new job easier than a new family.

Management is killing Flight Options … and only management can end the fight they started. It always gets worse before it gets better, thanks to management's actions … so I say … I would worry about the pilots, a-hell-of-a lot more than ANY lawyer!

Oh yeah...focusing on the NetJets IBB, then moving on to start the bs all over again with FlexJet. It's like "Groundhog Day" at IBT...guess the FLOPS pilots will get lost in the shuffle while IBT keeps that "carrot" dangling so the pilots will keep sending those pointless dues in. GET ON THE BALL, this is insane with seemingly no progress. In fact, the job is worse now than EVER before It's like kiddies fighting in the sandbox. Enough of the BS get those lawyers in there to stop this company from showing the world how lazy they are. They must be getting a great laugh at how they can violate any number of Labor laws, reduce pay and benefits on a DAILY basis, run an operation meant for 1000 pilots with 560, and IBT lawyers sit back and pocket dues to do NOTHING but working on bring more into the tangled web of worthlessness. Nice work (not) by the thugs AND this sh*tty company.

Well you need to go and tell your source that he is grossly misinformed.

We have requested numerous times, 3 writing, and most recently directly to Scheeringa via our MEC chairman, that we double the number of days we meet for negotiations. Every one of these request have been meet with some weak excuse for why management can't or won't meet more. We have heard many tidbits of information that have been floated from sources in management over the past couple of months that are nothing less then intentional misinformation. These have been obvious attempts by members of management to discredit your negotiation committee and the work we are doing. We have expressed our displeasure at these distortions and in many cases out right lies that are being spread by management. We were assured that they would stop. If your source is management, I guess they have not.


I'm very close to the process and what a I'm telling you is the truth.

BTW... how come the lawyers haven't started working on something even a braindead law student could, and get people's OVERTIME PAID! That would be a START. What labor law concurs with forcing OT then NOT paying and saying "Oh we'll give you a day or 2 off, and if we don't get to it we'll pay you NEXT YEAR sometime." WTF??????? If the allegedly existing union lawyers can't even start with THAT...a "gimme" what the heck CAN they do????
Seems like only the IBT PAID posters on here (you know, the ones that accuse everyone who disagrees with them of being mgt stooges) are the ONLY ones with any seeming faith of anything happening for FLOPS pilots...EVERYONE is leaving, even the most staunch union supporters,...so what does THAT say about the future? Yeah, let them keep leaving then accuse everyone of not joining in to help. They KEEP joining in...they just FLEE when the see what is REALLY going on. GET IT?!!!!!
