You are the biggest idoit on this board. It is because of you (and people like you) that this industries work force is in the trouble. The sad and terrible thing is, that with your Myopic thoughts and views it renders you incapable of intellectual thought.

In other words... your the plague you dumb a$$.

So im a Dumb A$$ because im actually doing the research on your rights under union leadership? Ummm yea you must be one of those forced unionism fellows. Your just mad because im showing people they don't have to just blindy follow their leaders into the shredder and they do have the right to impeach ALPA if the majority wishes.

Great Post! This really brought out the general feeling of the SkyWest Pilots (who troll this forum). Looking back over it by far the concensus is that Skywest Pilots are not the general whining Union hawks who hate their jobs, hate their company and hate their peers who don't.

Some one posted earlier that SkyWest success comes from its management and the plan they laid out and followed thirty years ago. Thats it exactly, and whether you like it or not they will continue and the employees working there will continue to enjoy some semblence of Job security and overall good healthy work conditions.......

Thanks WTF-over for giving us the chance to show how off base you wantabes really are.

If I were to guess, they would say you are a d!ck.

Atkin said even bigger aircraft may be in the works for its Delta Connection service. Delta is negotiating with its pilots for permission to hire regional airlines like SkyWest and ASA to fly jets with more than 70 passengers. If the pilots agree, SkyWest could acquire 90-seat aircraft.
SkyWest is moving to larger jets because there is a need for them in some of its markets. And the cost of flying larger aircraft is cheaper, Atkin said.

This is my point, now you will be flying 90 seaters for 50 seat pay. You have no ability to ask for anything higher plus your taken away your own job proggresion.

Good point. I would assume the majority of your growth is going to come from aircraft that seat more than 50 seats, yet the "temporary" 18 month agreement ( which experation has come and gone) limits you to 50 seat pay for both Captains and F/O's.

I'm not jumping on the "Skywest sucks" bandwagon...I just can't believe how many cheerleaders over there seem to turn a blind eye to major issues such as this...hey as long as the airplanes keep coming right???

Very good point.

Except for the fact that the "90 seat airframes" that have been mentioned are allegedly to be sent to ASA for their operations out of ATL.

Last I checked, ASA was ALPA.

Last I checked...you have a pretty decent fleet of 70 seaters...I think I even remember seeing a thread where you were getting more......yea!!!!!!!

Aren't these also covered under the agreement?

You can point the finger at ASA when:

1.) 90 seat airplanes appear on their property

and only then if:

2.) They decide to fly them at their 70 seat....oops I mean 50 seat rates.

Nevemind WTF's point....my point is that you have a 50 rate that as it stands today will be used for all future deliveries, which will be aircraft greater than 50 seats whether it be 90 or 70.

http://www.nrtw.org/d/deauth_decert_rla.htm This link is for anyone who is interested in decertification of a union. That is how you get the ball rolling on getting rid of ALPA. Lets get this baby started! FREE CHOICE FOR EMPLOYEES not forced union BS. NOT ONE MORE CENT for ALPA

fedex went thru this...what happens when you taxi off a snow covered taxiway or some some passenger accuses u of drinking...without a union protecting u..u get fired...it may be a neccessary evil..but it is neccessary

YOU did the research and this is what you came up with? Look, ALPA has made some huge mistakes and the majors let their egos get too big. But....

Do you know why ALPA started? Do you know what they have accomplished over the years? even at a non union airlines your safety rules are because of ALPA. you know what else? back in the day pilots worked together and even called each other brother. your a dumb a%&. your attitude does ruin the whole industry.

ps. you're an idiot

I have to say I'm getting very tired of this flawed logic. It makes no sense to stick with an organization because of what it used to be. Whether or not you believe in ALPA should be based on the future not the past. Do you want to work for Delta, United, USAir, TWA, Braniff, because they were once great companies? No, you should work for whomever has the brightest future. It's like the guy who says, "I can't sell my XYZ stock for $10 because I paid $15 when I bought it." Hello, it's a sunk cost! All that matters is the future, not the past. Any other logic is flawed.

Dude, after that reaction I'd expect you'd need to clean your shorts. Or did you already have the sock standing by just in case?

Just wait till you guys make the majors for the first time and start getting paid a decent wage, and your life starts looking up. Then BoOm your ass is out on the street from some regional. I hope you feel happy that someone gets to fly a jet while you're picking out a good freeway overpass to set up your cardbox house. Flame away!

But yet, skywest has some of the best schedules, trips, pay, and work rules out of all the regionals. They have hung onto their domiciles, and expanded while doing so. I think there is a bigger reason behind their being successful other than not having a union.

I have several friends there, and they LOVE it. Apparently, this guy (writer of the letter) sees the writing on the wall there, but I don't. They will continue to expand, possibly getting more flying as United and Delta shed Mesa out of BK for better service.

Right on! Unions have done 'NOTHING', I repeat 'NOTHING' for anyone. Just look at comair's 89 day strike...so what happened then? In the end, the Major Airline managements will decide what you get...strike all you want and get your 'Scab list' ready because that's the only way you'd (believers in Unions) feel some accomplishment.

Simply look at SkyWest and 'MOVE ON' !

I know bunch of people at SkyWest and these folks work directly with the management with no union. If SkyWest can work so nicely with their pilots...may be it's time for rest of the airlines to 'abolish' unions.

My tuppence.

Fly Safe.

Quit whining! This environment is called every man for himself and may the best man win!!! Let us ask ourselves this. What union allowed all this to start happening? Thats right ALPO started this whole race my friend. The best way to send a message is for everyone to start trying to get ALPO decertified. In fact anyone who wants info holla at me. Isnt it funny the non union company makes more than most regionals do? What does that say about ALPO? I say its time to impeach every single one of those SOBs. Comair used to have the good contract and look what we were forced into. DECERTIFY ALPA NOW! ITS THE BIGGEST WASTE OF 2% of your check. With the amount of dues ive paid that have been wasted over the years I could have taken the lady out to even more nice dinners and we go out 3 nights a week. Instead of "holding the line" lets put ALPA on ice, they do no good anyway

Bravo!

You have no idea how many pilots out there would support this idea of 'abolishing' unions - ALPA in this reference. They have done nothing. I mean...2% of pay...for what.

Lets keep this up. No one, no one at all, can argue what SkyWest has without a [useless ALPA] union. Granted they [SkyWest] don't have it all, but just look at the conditions at those unionized airlines. All I'm saying is...why have a union when you can have all this without a union?

If unions are abolished...of course some (a minority) group would be enraged and stand up for so-called 'values', but in the end, they'd be standing in line trying to get the jobs. After all these so-called 'unionized', stand-up pilots with 'integrity' have NEVER refused to obey an instruction from thousands of Air Traffic Controller who replaced the controllers in 1981 [interesting also how many unionized pilots who put down Freedom and ************************* wouldn’t hesitate to ‘jump-seat’ on the same airlines]. So, is your convenience more of a value then your integrity then?

Funny how their values change on case-to-case basis.

Go SkyWest!
