What are you furloughed guys doing with your old uniform jackets? I don't want to see Sadam's boy's get a hold of it but I don't want throw it out either.

The way I see it.
3000 AA pilots on furlough
2/3 come back = 2000
AA gets aggressive because someone looks at retirement numbers
2000/40 a month = 4 years
I take the optional 3 year deferal after th last guy is recalled
Age 65 gets passed sometime inthe next 7 years.

I am now upto 10-12 years before I need to even think about wearing this thing again. Since I am moving I am not taking it with me.

I have two very nice ones. One AA Fo and one NWA fo 44r

I've got uniforms from Mesa/USAir Express, AWA, Ryan, AA fo and now Eagle CA and the manuals for all the a/c I flew. I may need to open a uniform memorabilia museum soon.

I am in the same boat as you DC, however I used or shall I say REUSED my uniforms. Trans States took their uniform with to Air Wisconsin and used it there. That saved me $300. Air Wisconsin had a uniform allowance so I used it to buy a new uniform which I never wore until I went to AWA and saving me this time close to $400. So all told I spent $200 for three carriers.

WD.

Why not remove stripes and any other airline specific items from the jackets and if they are in decent shape donate them to goodwill. That's what I do...

Can't you get in trouble in the post 9-11 era that we live in? You know if you sell it on ebay?

Why?
It's just an ugly jacket that I'm only too glad to get rid of.
The clothes don't make the pilot, just the inability of being smart enough to of chosen a better line of work.

All you're doing by destroying it is making the raghead or chechen to out and buy silver or gold piping and a navy suit. He can already make the id on his home computer (a friend made a perfect copy of his id for his 4 year old).

You've got to stop terrorists at the source. Relying on the TSA... Wellll...

Semperfido--Do you buy your groceries on Ebay? ;) TC
