So let's focus on flight school characteristics more than the actual flight schools. Let's be objective and let the students learn for themselves. I guess it goes back to "give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach him to fish and he eat for a life time." I'm sure many on her are CFI's so we should act like it. Meaning professional. If set the example here then students will see the contrast as they interview the many different flight schools

Well since he's not looking for a college, then that would make sense. CAPT is done, btw.

CAPT got dropped by Embry-Riddle but supposedly they're going to make an announcement that they got bought out by some company and will continue their operation. I don't know what brand they will continue as but one thing is for sure, their management sucks and they will hang you out to dry without losing any sleep.

I agree about the management. I dunno about them being "bought out". Didn't hear that, but who knows. I know they had to finish up the people currently in the program, and weren't taking any new ones.

DCA is expensive, trust me I know. Part 61 FBOs you never know what you might get as far as an instructor. As someone mentioned above some part 61 instructors view checklists as "optional" for the flight. And for the person who metioned to buy your own plane C-150 or Piper forgot to mention how much the insurance is going to cost your low time a$$ and the maintainence required to keep that plane flying at the rate you are looking to build time. Is there one answer to solve it all, no! Just do your research and do what's best for you. Just because someone had a problem with their flight school does not mean it won't work for you.

I heard they have old planes, but all training is multi engine, and they use no simulators, pretty good on program costs...

I'm not Jagboy, as you have indicated in a few post today, and you wouldn't know me if I was standing right next to you. And my point is, someone who looks like a circus midget probably shouldn't be making fun of others in any way, shape or form. Did you not refer to me in another post as a “tard”? Also, isn't effective communication mentioned more than a few times in the FOI? Based on the majority of your postings, that is not one of your strong suits. How you convey anything meaningful to your students is inconceivable..

Training at DCA is worth the money in my opinion. And that's my opinion, If you don't like it scott, shove it up your ass!
