Are OAL jumpseaters allowed to check bags while traveling international on United? Specifically LAX or SFO to SYD.

You'll wish you didn't check that bag when a UAL Captain walks up, taps you on the shoulder at push back -2 minutes and says, "Better luck next time budday. Giiggidy."
