BTW this NWA cargo rumor has been around for about 2 years at least.

But you lost the DHL contract within the last year. Would you have pulled the plug when DHL was still your customer? Doubt it.

Man-o-man...so much crap flyin in this thread....

This may at least provide some rational thoughts on the Cargo situation: Air Cargo World Article

Now, in the interest of getting back to slinging crap....the latest rumors from the NWA board attributed to a DAL management Captain:
  • There are plans to use the 767-300ERs as cargo birds, the cargo door STC is ready to go....
  • DAL management really likes the A330 and is working with Airbus to buy as many as possible, no deal yet...
  • 747-400's are already being flight planned ATL-NRT...
  • Some crew bases will be moving...
  • DAL is "really interested" in NWA international traffic...(whatever that means)
  • Everything agreed to except some NWA redbook grievance issue. Announcement as soon as that is settled.
Now, Sling Away Boys!!!

Hope we/they/us look at going back into DFW. Still some 25+ gates available on the E. Think Uncle Richard already has the ball rolling on a number of things.

Sounds plausable with the 787 on order. ER would be great and they know that there is money in cargo. I would bid it.

General, It looks like you know everything and have all the answers, why do you need to spout off on FI? You started a thread that now seems clear was just flame bait for you to open your mouth and be the negative A$$ clown. I have decided that your opinion has no value and will terminate listening to you. You are now blocked.
I know you will reply to this, because that is what someone with 10k posts does. Fortunately, I will sleep well knowing I will never have to read your useless words again. You've been blocked.

Bye Bye.

I just have one question for this guy? Will he BLOCK me? I hope not, or I will start to cry.......:(

I hope some of those things work out, and ATL-NRT probably does need a 744. If there are a lot of A330s out there or if they can build a lot ASAP, then maybe we should look at getting more. Why not? If this thing actually comes to fruition, then I hope things flourish.

744s already being planned for ATL-NRT? Enlighten us, who is doing that planning? Where do you see that written down? Why do you say "we should look at getting more" when really it is your company's leadership structure. Is the union going to look at acquiring more airplanes on behalf of the company? Are you in Delta management? I'm asking because I don't know and I'm not going to assume one way or the other.

Uhhhh.....love to help ya there Cpt..but you need to take it up with the DAL management Cpt that supposedly said it. Re-read the post and focus on the phrase "attributed to"...Thanks!

The General heard it from a "reliable" source. AKA the newspaper. General why dont you wait and see what the MEC tells you instead of being a drama queen about everything you hear/read? The media wants nothing but to stir the pot and you took it hook line and sinker.

Why doesn't he? Because he's a loud-mouthed punk hiding behind a keyboard wishing/hoping he can benefit from the misfortune of others.

Loud-mouthed punk? You can't handle the truth sonny! Misfortune of others? Any result is NEGOTIATED you big dummy. I have nothing to do with it--blame the negotiators. Wow, you are nuts, you putz.

I guess you'll have no problem bidding those LBB overnites :D

Thank Gawd we don't go there and probably won't. My 12 years here so far afford me better layovers. A lot better than El Paso, anyway.

You're right. DFW was a great operation for DL. They say it was money-losing but really it was mis-managed and flooded with RJs. Closing it was a windfall for AA. Unfortunately Leo and his dirt-bag crew couldn't see anything but ATL. The ultimate short-sighted maneuver was closing DFW, PDX, MCO, and leaving LAX for the buzzards to pick over.
