You guys don't understand the "equity" award the pilots were granted. The award is for pre-bankruptcy exit "credit". At bankruptcy exit, the creditors are granted so much on the dollar (0.10, 0.20 etc.) for their pre-bankruptcy claims against the company. If you are the catering company, and NWA owes you 10 mil for peanuts, your settlement might only be 1 million dollars.

The pilot grant is the same way. I would expect to see the each pilot only get around 10 or so, and thats before taxes.

No NWA intends to pay the full $880 million upon exiting. The MEC was specifically put in there to dump the money into pension fund forcing thousands to jump ship, and saving millions in the process.

I'm afraid that you are quite mis-informed. If that's what they're selling to the troops over at building A or N, then that's just sad. You might want to talk to some line pilots and get the real word.

Each pilot will be LUCKY to get 10k-15k out of the $880 mil claim.

Recall Update - Saturday, September 23, 2006
While I have not obtained another update fron NWA, I have reports that short notice PNR's for Nov training are now 295 down the furlough list, to pilot Morris, SSN 5202, a 3/1/2002 furlough
========================
10 more in a day.......Hmmmmmnnnnnnn??????

Baja, I see what you're saying.

But, I think that the recall rate will be greater than the 1 in 7 we see now after the New Year.

Who wants to come to class, and OE over the Holidays?

I do not think it will be an earth-shaking change in rate. But, I believe that NWA will get around 57% of the furloughs to return.
Just my guess.

I wish it were each pilot getting an equal share of something, But as you can see it's sh*t on the "junior guy" time again...

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the NWA MEC hereby determines that the following methodology shall be used to allocate the ALPA claim and the cash payment of $16.8M to individual eligible pilots:

50% per capita, 25% pro rata based on hourly pay rate, 25% based on a linear progression with the most senior eligible pilot receiving twice the amount (2:1) received by the most junior eligible pilot.

Duh

I know that's the way it works and will always work. I'm just sorry to see that the idiots that voted for the POS contract will get twice the benefit that the smart ones who voted no will recieve.:puke:

In the next ten years the majority of this IDIOTS will retire, then is going to be your turn to represent the guys on reserve on the DC-9 while you are a 787 Capt. Right? You are of the generation that sees how inefficient and uneven the current structure is, therefore you will be of the generation of change, the generation that will have only one color book and the generation that will bring Brand Scope of course.

How many retirements are coming up at NWA? Is it similar to Cal where most of the airline will retire in the next 10 years or does NWA have a younger pilot group like UAL?

More Duhhhhh

WRONG...on both fronts. Those IDIOTS will be gone as soon as NWA exits bankruptcy and they bail early. They will have no incentive or anything to gain by staying. AND I WON'T be there to take my turn to represent anyone as a 787 capt since I will bail at the earliest opportunity. Funny you picked 10 years since by the time they exit bankruptcy the next 10 years will be under the new POS contract. :puke: I can do better elsewhere.
