If you are CASS you don't even need a seat available in the back, just a vacant cockpit jumpseat.If the cockpit jumpseats are taken we can take 2 more offline jumpseaters in the cabin as long as there are seats available. Points to remember and point out(gently) to the agent if necessary: The above mentioned policy on 2 additional offline guys in cabin...some agents claim to not know this.A320/319's have 2 cockpit J/S. If the cockpit J/S is taken by a NW pilot and there are no other seats available in the cabin the NW pilot can ride the F/A jumpseat if available thereby making the cockpit J/S open for the offline guy(assuming CASS qualified).As RU said, the pilots are generally really good about jumpseating. They just might not be quite as friendly as times past due to all of the crap goin' on. But you should still have no problem getting home as long as there are seats available in the back.
