Everyone hired in 2000 went to class. The only poolies that never went to class was the latter half of 2001.

I passed the interview in Oct. 2000 passed the medical in Nov. was never called for a class. I have the letters right here. I reaplyed and did the psych and app. and recieved this,

Thank you for your interest in the pilot position with United Airlines. At this time, we have other candidates who more closely meet our requirements. You are welcome to reapply for consideration 24 months from the date of this correspondence.

We wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Best regards,
Human Resources Department

You' re wrong. Hired in October 2000, medical in November (remember it well, it was election night). Was approximately number 11 in the pool before they emptied the pool.

I did not apply this time around, but think it's piss poor UAL did not even address the 100's they hired and kept in the pool for months.

Think I'll Pass......

Not interested in coming to NWA?

Good! We'll try to survive and prosper without you...[/quote]

Yep, not going to apply there. You can count on not seeing me around.

Any place that has a CEO as bad as Steenland-YIKES! That fool actually sent out a memo encouraging employess to go thru trash up and down the street if they weren't happy about their paycuts!

-Keep that Crap!

They did address us. Going through the hoops right now.

Right! I have it on good authority that Uncle Doug personally wrote the passages that encouraged NWA employees to Reuse and Recycle. He probably got the idea from my kid's public school district's campaign.

That means that insidious weasel has probably already infiltrated Minnesota's elementary school districts! For shame!

(sigh)

On the other hand, he has come out publicly opposed to changes to Age 60, and has spent NWA money to fight any changes.

Where's YOUR CEO on that one?

As soon as the canonization process is complete for such saints as Tilton, Ornstein, and "Fork Lift" Joe, we can get to work on Dougie's application.

Sheesh!

Sheesh!

Your CEO is a d!ck and you know it. Unless you're completely not in touch with reality.

Show me a CEO that's not a d!ck...

The goal is to raise the bar. Anyone (not at FEX/UPS) at an airline that doesn't have some warts, raise their hand.

(waiting, waiting...)

That's what I thought. TC

Most CEO's aren't worth much in leadership skills or employee relations these days. And all it takes in this industry is one or two bad ones (No shortage today)
to tank everyone. D.S. did fight for the pension freeze, did fight for the age 60 retirement and has said publicly in WSJ and other interviews, mistakes were made in implementing things too fast, and some things didn't work out, hence 2 T/A's already that are a quick start to improve things. All the I.O.E. is catching up and staffing will improve soon.

What's your point?

Does YOUR boss control your mood or your pride in your profession? He influences your contract. When the Possession Arrow is his way...his influences win.

When the Possession Arrow is our way, his influences don't carry the day.

That's the way it was, the way it is, and the way it will be. The sun don't shine on the same dog all the time. Keeping those facts in mind, I don't fret where my current CEO fits on the D1ck Index.

Ok. You win. and how many millions did he and his staff take home post bankruptcy? Where is your pay scale now? Who has he been throwing under the bus lately in the press?

And some people paid $10 for this. 5 Happy Hour beers would be a better investment.

Ok. You win.

Not 'til my gate party, when me and momma take our AARP cards and our too-big RV down to PHX to clog the city streets every winter, and ensure that every cheap buffet within 20nm of our condo is jammed with wrinkly geezers demanding more easy-to-chew entrees.

Then I'll hang out my Mission Accomplished banner and get down to spoiling my grandkids and ruing the time I wasted debating inconsequential matters with genetically-hindered losers on FI.

Not many, yet. As your exhaustive research has no doubt shown, most of Dougie's millions are in the future, and are subject to a "must be present to win" clause. I understand his package is less than Tilton's, but more than Grinstein's. I can't confirm that because (and please pay careful attention to this part) I don't really care how much HE makes...I only care how much WE make.

Where is your pay scale now?

On the last two pages of Section 3 of my contract.

My contract is in a 7-ring binder, as it is often modified between Amendable Dates. For example, 4 really crappy parts of it were just changed to my satisfaction over the past few weeks. The most-recent change means my pay scale is not truly indicative of how much I will be earning each month.

(Lemme know if any of this is sinking in...)

Who has he been throwing under the bus lately in the press?

Publicity is a lot like poison. It can't hurt you unless you swallow it.

I don't.

The reports I tend to focus upon are those from my MEC, especially when they announce they've negotiated significant improvements to my contract, and thereby, my QOL and earnings. Fortunately, there have been more of those to read lately.

So...as you said yourself: I win.

Classic.

I'm glad you win. Most of the junior pilots over at nwa aren't as lucky as you senior guys, but I guess you made sure of that.
As the name calling isn't very productive, I'll try and avoid that as always. My name calling was directed towards your ceo and not you. I'm trying to post opinions of what I hear about the real world of nwa for people thinking about returning to nwa. I guess it's good that Dougie can't get his millions YET, but he sure as heck isn't taking care of you, the FA's , or the scab mech's, etc. bottom line. Yes you did get some recent improvements after Dougie's screw up cost nwa thousands of cancelled fllights. Time and a half pay after 80 hours per month? You get paid for deadheads again? That makes everything better? I know it's an improvement, but it should never had gone away in the first place. It's good that you don't "swallow" the bad publicity, but guess what, the people that buy nwa tickets and pay your salary do. They don't care about what your mec is telling you. All they know is their flight to buffalo is cancelled and Dougie says it's your fault. I could be wrong, but you sound like a guy who "got their's" and doesn't much care about those now coming back on the bottom, because the guys I talk to that are coming back on the bottom have a different story. If I'm wrong about that, then sorry.
