I don't understand how Pinncle will staff the DAL jets.

Neither does Pinnacle management, but that's never stopped them before.

Interesting - one of the things Northwest asks if you start applying is:

If selected, you will be required to surrender any seniority held with any air carrier. Is this acceptable to you?

You have to answer yes/no - it is one of the questions like "Do you have a passport", "Can you work on-call and in changing condition", "Can you work for starvation wages" etc..
