Well there you go. Everyone seems like they are slowing down for the Summer. Are there any Major airlines still hiring this Summer?
Bye Bye--General Lee
I have a 4/10 US Airways interview, so I guess they are still hiring.
...For now. I am not holding my breath.
They said I would probably be assigned E190 PHL, but the last class is all going the left coast. All things are subject to change, so we shall see.
Darn, I missed it since I put him and a few select others on ignore last week.Wow i like the new GL, more discussions and less flaming, maybe there is hope for this forum after all. Good for you GL!!
Nothing wrong with trying to better yourself. If it happens, it happens. If you feel you have enough PIC time and want a change, go for it. I think you would enjoy either plane offered. I see those E190s in ATL and they look like a nice ride. The pay is a bit low the first year at all majors pretty much, but gets better with time and your options open the longer you are there, hopefully. Good luck to you.

I wish you guys all the best and hope for all of us oil comes crashing down to a reasonable level. $106 a barrell this morning.
If folks were not so scared out of dollars and into commodities.... Obama's "hope" speech is a little thin on details, but he is right about something. The prescription for this crisis of confidence is hope. He is politically astute to bring "hope" to the table when the other candidates are not in a position to sell the same message.
If traders would return to their senses oil would be around $60 to $80, making NWA's and DAL's fleet of narrow body jets more viable.
Hi!
I read that OPEC stated that they believe the min floor price for oil is now $90. They believe that would be the price if all the speculation and geopolitical uncertainties were removed from the per barrel price.

That sucks. I'm supposed to be in the class after you. I haven't heard from them yetNWA 4-21 class postponed til 4-28, which will be the last class for an undetermined amount of time.
All slots in the class will be ANC 747FE.
Deferral option puts deferree at bottom of present pool, about 75-80 right now.
NOT RUMOR, I was affected. NW HR called me this evening.

Just say Thank-you APAAD!

I got a call today, my 5/5 NWA classdate indefinately canceled.
Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you didn't quit your current job early and you still have a job. I just read about a former regional guy who went to UAL (I think) and he is now furloughed without an opportunity to return to his regional. Again, a closer look at Netjets might be in order for many people - my application is already in.

Clippyrip,
What "good trips" are on the horizon? Are you staying in ANC or trying to bid off? How many are trying to get out of ANC FE? I am really struggling with the prospect of months and months of commuting to ANC for $30/hour.
Thanks,
Busdriver
I don't have a problem with Allegiant. Their pay is low, but if I lived in one of their domiciles I would consider themThat sucks... I guess you'll be able to continue commenting on the low pay at Allegiant and others for a while longer.
Karma sure is a b***H, aint she.
Well, considering you have no seat lock and can bid a different aircraft immediately you wont have months and months of commuting to ANC. (this is not directed at Busdriver but is a general comment) If anyone doesnt want that class call them and defer it and let someone from the may class in who does want it.
Heyas,
Adding to the oil price problem is the extreme weakness of the dollar right now, which is how oil is priced.
If the dollar were 1:1 to the Euro right now, oil would be around $70, or so the talking head on CNBC says.
Cutting interest rates to bail out a deflating economy isn't helping this at all. As long as the dollar is very weak, the high prices will remain very high.
