Why would it be that Mesaba could'nt do exactly that instead of another regional, that way there would be no transfer of the Avro's, esp from an airline that has demonstrated that ability to fly and maintain them?

NW owns the leases on the Avro's, not Mesaba.

True NWA does own ther Avro's, but wouldnt it be easier for NWA to simply stay with Mesaba and do some sort of J4J with them, rather than transfer everything over to another airline, esp with the mod coming up on the Avro's. It would just save time/money to keep things where they are.

Another thought that this whole SkyWest deal may not be so far off. They are non union and NWA/XJ hate their labor unions.

I.E. just with the last two weeks mesaba has switched to outsourse Maintenance checks rather than our own mechanics, switched to a contract company for gate agents and rampies in MEM and let all of the union employes go, and is about furlough 24 union pilots.

screw mesa...

mesaba and aca should team up for the lcc idea.
