Disclaimer:

Remember, I have nothing against the 300 hour pilot personally or professionally, and I’m sure most of them can fly the s#!t out of a CRJ.

Maybe, on a good day. A person with 300 hours of civilian training in GA aircraft would have his/her hands full in ANY turbine aircraft. I would say that, at best, a 300 hour pilot in a CRJ would be lucky to be able to shoot a full approach to minimums.

For that matter, suppose Avro's plan raises regional wages to the point that they're no longer profitable. Then what?

The regionals are barely profitable with you guys working for very low wages already.

The regionals are like contractors. They are also a dime-a-dozen. The majors have the luxury of changing you guys out left and right to the lowest bidder. Wages will always be low, especially with Jonh Q. Riddle coming out by the thousands who is willing to fly for free because he wants to walk through the terminal in a uniform.

Uh Huh. I have delt with you son old bltches who think just because they are former military, that they can kick anyones a$$. Welcome to the civilian world son, where you are our bitch when stepping in the cockpit
With all do respect with you being former military, but since you went through boot camp and what not, doesn't mean you would win a street fight if it came down to it.

I've seen the current crop of regional ego-maniac captains and military pilots. My money's on the Marine.

I've got $10 that says Tank Commander can kick your butt. :D

Controlling supply is how most white collar professions keep up the big bucks wages. One reason we have become screwed is because we are now a dime a dozen.

The regional are more profitable than you think. A few years ago there was an article in Air Transport Mag and they broke down the Rev Per Seat Mile. And guess what, they RSM was higher on most of the commuters (props in those days) than the majors.
