FYI- There is a hat survey on the NPA website. Please go and let your opinion be heard. I for one am stongly in favor of making hats optional. However you feel, let your opinion be known.

Oh and while you are there, first and foremost, fill out the contract survey. Make sure your captain or fo has filled this out too. We need more participation if we are to get anything done.

FO's to 2/3 captain pay and let's get rid of the damn hats. Yes, I know the hat issue is for the most part a non-issue, but why not fill the survey out...
 
Air Tran has already dragged this profession down.

You slobs should wear your hats, jackets, and cut your hair while you try to stand up tall in spite of your bastard prostitute heritage.

Air Tran is still VALUEJET! And Valuejet once wore Polo shirts.

Today you slackers forget your hats so tomorrow you can ask for shorts and a polo.

Why don't you all try wearing big boy pants and represent the profession in the most professional manner possible. If it messes up your hair, your hair is to long, HIPPIE!

It is going to be fun to watch AAI fail! It is 12 years overdue!

One other thing. Your screen name says it all. You would certainly never get past an interview board if you had to.
 
Wow Lucky, I'm critical of AAI, even as an employee. But you are one seriously hateful individual. Let it go, nothing is worth getting so worked up over.

Wow, I just wanted to point out what was currently on the NPA website. Mr. Lucky, you seem to have some pent up frustration over something. Not getting any or what? We don't need people like you in this profession. Go play with yourself or something and blow off some steam.

I know who I am. I what I stand for. And I know whats the truth is in this politically incorrect world who run around censoring the truth in pursuit of tolerance.

I also know my position and life took a lot more than my superior intellect, good looks, and hard work.

My paint scheme and fuselage are better than yours syndrome, helps noone pal. I think I'm critical at times as well. But only to try and help people realize that they should stand up for themselves during contract negotiations. Your attitude accomplishes nothing. In fact, you fall right into management's arms with that rethoric. It's devisive in a time when this industry needs solidarity. Are you gonna stand up when your time comes around? Or do you think it won't be necessary because your company has a better name (in your opinion) and they love you and owe it to you?

Realize this much, if they get a good contract, in the end it might help you get a better one yourself. And yes, you do need a better one! Unless you think that name recognition is sufficient payment of course. Or, unless you work for FEX, UPS or SWA. If you don't work for either of these three, then you're in the same boat they're in. It's a new industry afer 911. My wee wee is bigger than yours theory doesn't hold true anymore. No single airline caused that to happen. It was your CEO along with mine that made it happen.

Wow! I think they have it wrong above. Xanax isn't your solution, a good beating to get you into reality is!

First, why are you posting your hatred for FL on a thread about hats?

Second, why the hatred for FL. Something happen to you in an interview? Is it the Scab thing? -- if it's the interview, no wonder; if it's the Scab thing, you'd be hard pressed to find more than 5-8% on property here anymore, if that. I'm coming up on 4 years and am in the top 50% of seniority. It's a junior, mostly young group that has nothing to do with the hatred you may be displaying!

Or, are you with SWA, or one of the people that believe we'll be bought out? A month ago I might have agreed, but our stock has SLOWLY been coming back up, we have a good new CEO, and loads through these slow 6 weeks or so haven't been too bad.

Either way, worry about your own pitiful world, and we'll take care of ours (as much as pilots can).


To the original poster, I say no to hats! And yes LUCKY, I have short hair!
 
From what I have seen, there are three kinds of guys that really like the hat:

1) Scabs
2) Baldies
3) Weak Sisters.

Lucy, err . . . Lucky seems to represent all three.
 
Most stupid AAI thread ever. This is what happens when someone breathlessly posts information no matter how trivial. Some stuff should stay in house.
Who cares about the Hat survey? It is a test survey to see if the survey system works.
 
I started this thread and, yes, I agree it is one of the dumbest threads ever. Please make sure you find as many people as possible who have not filled out the contract survey, and walk them to a computer and have them fill it out.

On a side note, there are other airlines who make the hat optional. Is this not a valid topic? Maybe for you baldies, you think it is. But for us Fonzies, I think they should be optional.

I didn't realize the hat was such a big deal to some.

I'd like to know how many people actually know what the strap is for that goes across the brim of the hat. I bet one in ten know that answer. It is for something we definitley don't need.

Anyway...
 
I voted.....in favor of the hat. And no, Ty, I'm not bald, a SCAB, or a "weak sister."
 
Maybe, just maybe, if a Moderator would, on a consistent basis, DELETE the postings of people like "justluckytohaveajob", there would be more useful discussions on this board.

Free speech(this is a private forum anyway) should not include useless rantings/ventings, as it serves no constructive purpose.

A little control should be applied to those who obviously have no self control.
 
And by the way,

I'm no big fan of the generations old HAT. But it does separate you from the pack, can look professional, points to who's in charge(cause your the only one with that silly lookin thing on your head). And I will not trade leather jackets or the hat for improvements in my contract, pay or quality of life.

Yeah, I still have a full head of hair, too young to be scab, and what is a weak sister?
