Anybody receive a call to interview in November? Will SWA interview in December for a few weeks befor taking some well rested time off for the holidays? :D

Currently no interviews are scheduled for Nov nor Dec. Don't expect any changes for Nov, Dec is still far enough off that if things changes interviews could be scheduled but right now from what I've heard (the PD are the final word) there isn't anything scheduled for either month. We do have 2 new hire classes scheduled for Nov & 1 for Dec....a class every two weeks beginning in Jan for the forseeable future. Hope that helps,

I was just at HPA at DFW. The SWA HR guy said that they will now interview in December due to the need.

November Interviews

Just got an email from HR that we'll do one week of interviews, 15-18 Nov. They're scheduling three teams which tells me they're going to interview 18 candidates a day. No other word for December yet. Good luck to all.

Cheers

it seems like SWA is getting to ramp up for classes in 05 because right now as I see it the time from interview to class is about 6-7 months which seems a healthy amount to my uneducated eye. i interviewed july and am slated for a mid-to-late feb class. someone who just got called from yesterday's DB (sept interview) said they are being slated for march to may class starts. perhaps we might get the chance to be in dallas sooner with SWA feeling the need to keep stoking the fire with fresh wood? :)

no matter the wait, i have the patience of a saint for a company like SWA.

the better question is does anyone think they will add classes in nov, dec, or jan because it seems they feel the need to further deepen the pool. we can hope, good luck to all people waiting for the interview, have the interview, waiting for the DB, or waiting in our ever popular pool. :-)

I also got called today for a Nov 17th interview. For comparison for those still waiting for a call my hours/quals are as follows:

Total: 3100
Last 36m: 1050
Turbine PIC: 1850
Type Rated
C-5 IP
T-37 IP
Almost all time USAF

I found this helpful to me to get an idea of where I stacked up for an interview invite so I hope this helps others.

the even better question is how will the pending new age 60 rule affect hiring?
The even better question than this is how will the liquidation of a Legacy and a prominent MDW player effect hiring? There is a plan of action being evaluated at the training ctr. which would call for a new hire class of 20 or so to start each week next year. Don't know if it will be instituted or not stay tuned...

Congratulations and thanks to Pig for his application hours breakout. Does anyone know how these numbers bear on the decision to call for an interview? For instance, I have 2980 total and 1770 PIC (all mil) and a 73 type.
To anyone's knowledge, is there some rack and stack method that is known?
Mostly curious, since the only thing I can do now is continue to fly and be patient.
Anyone here going to Pensacola this weekend?

Total: 9100 (all turb)
Turb PIC: 1850 (SWA definition; all mil; never civ Captain)
FE: 2000
SIC: 6000 (500 in -800 and counting)
APP: Jan 04
TYPE: See Left (737 April 04)
C-141B Stan Eval

No call as of yet. On another thead someone has been on file for 2 years and has 6800 hours of 737 SIC and has NOT been called.

I have heard they resort the spreadsheet every two weeks to mix up the "gene pool" of interviewee's. No one knows.

Thanks Unit....that was my initial supposition. Sounds like it is mostly voodoo. BTW, you sound preeminently qualified. I'd hire you.

I luv you man....you are brave one for trying to get into this industry. As a Captain I flew with from "Daloot" (Duluth, MN) said "She's a mess!"

The PD folks told our class back in Aug that 1700 TPIC was the current cutoff to get the call. They told us to expect that number to drop by a couple of hundred in the next year.

With the large number of people springing for the type who knows what the mins are gonna be.

Unit, bravery has nothing to do with it! I'm retiring next summer from USAF and need to feed and clothe my children. Alas, 50% of my base pay simply won't cut it.
Practicality aside, I believe I'd really enjoy working for a company like SWA.
Good luck to you.

I'll be there in P-Cola. Looking to ask all the same questions that are being asked here. I'm an extremely short-timer leaving(not retiring from...) the military.
TT - 3400
TPIC - 2000
Type - Dec03
