Reporter: You f*cked up an otherwise excellent article. Haven't you learned a thing by watching other NYT reporters embarrass themselves and their paper over the last few years?
To all of us: what if the offensive quote were not attributed to Jeff, but to an unnamed SWA pilot? SWAPA would not have been able to address the misunderstanding in so timely -- and so effective -- a manner. Only by crosschecking with the named source have they been able to discredit the quote. I really thought I knew how unreliable media reports can be -- and still, my first reaction was to take the report at face value. My bad.
