The first time I flew that approach I flew it wrong... I just flew outbound from the VOR on the radial, when it is actually the ADF i should've been tracking...its a good place for an "attention to detail" lesson. My instructor told me we were just gonna fly VFR and have fun, well around Malvern, he said "lets go do the ILS at Hot Springs". He got me!

That doesn't sound too wrong to me. The HOT VOR 232 at 6 DME is a charted route to fly to the IAF, http://www.fltplan8.com/AppCharts/GIFCHARTS/00902I5_0001.gif
after that track the LOC outbound and do the PT and track the LOC inbound for the ILS.
