Who Says that RAH sold the land to Compass! Who says that RAH didn't build the hangar for Compass? The Facts are. 1: Compass Hangar in SDF. 2: It is on RAH's Land. 2: Bedford's Father-in-Law is on the Board of NWA. As far as selling off parts of the company, NWA can do what they want when they want. It all comes down to $$$$$$. If they want to up and sell mesaba or Compass, then they can end of story. Why do I say this, because it's management's game. I am not speculating anything because I do not have inside information. I do fly for Republic and nothing would surprise me in this day and age. What is going to happen is going to happen and we are all out of the loop and have no control over it. The Future holds what the future holds.

The only fact is #1. #2 and #2 are Flightinfo and APF's rumor. At least get your numbers right the next time you want to pass on bogus crap. The Compass being sold to Republic rumor is as old as Compass is a company.

I'm calling Shenanigans on pretty much this whole post!

1. NWA can't sell Compass until certain narrow body fleet requirements are met at NWA. I don't have the exact number but there has to be more aircraft at mainline before Compass can be sold. Does Bedford have a brother-inlaw on the NWA MEC?

2. Show me somewhere other than another Flightinfo post where it says Compass is building a maintenance hangar on Republic property. The hangar is in SDF, are you telling me the City, County, or whomever else controls the airport just sold vacant airport property to Republic so they could turn around and sell it to Compass? I doubt it. What the hell does that have to do with Republic buying Compass? The only thing the two companies have in common is the same aircraft type. By that logic Southwest is going to by Alaska, Airtran, Delta, Continental, United, and Aeromexico.

What makes me go "hmmm" is where you guys come up with these rumors?

Its seems as though heads of the airlines can do what they want. Anything that is in the best interest of the company can be done.

The land is owned by RAH and I think you should show where it is not!

I am not speculating either but just incase, the pilots here already bought the big stapler.

My first two sentences were bogus comments to make a point and counter point. I was not being serious, it was a " Hmmm interesting" or a "What If" hypothesis. My other three statements that I called facts 1,2,& 3 are facts... End of Story!!! Not FI facts but facts of other sources. My main point was that management can do what they want when they want. Perhaps you need to learn to read between the lines before you jump down someone's throat.

What is the size limit of the Compass jet fleet? only 36 E175s? Do you think that someone going there now would have a prayer to upgrade in a year or two?

The land is owned by the Louisville International Airport Authority and is leased to Compass who is building the hangar as part of the Louisville Airport Improvement Project. Just as RAH's hangar was built on leased airport property. The fact that they are side-by-side means nothing. No company, including UPS OWNS land on the airport.

Bedford and Anderson have never had a good relationship with each other, relatives or not. That was a known issue at XJ when Bedford was here and Anderson NWA, it was one reason Bedford went to RAH in the first place.

I wish no ill will on anyone, nor do I want to see anyone "STAPLED". Time will tell what is going to happen. One thing is certain, we need to work together through this, we are ALL ALPA carriers. Not beating each other down with "My carrier is going to take over yours." Anyone of us my find ourselves being bought/merged/BK/furloughed in short order, and you may find yourself on the wrong side of that equation.

This is why I called shenanigans. I've never heard of a private firm owning any land at an airport, ever. Not that is has anything to do with anything.

Heres a Idea give the planes to RAH Sell the certificate and fire all the useless heavies and keep the crew to fly them Save millions and keep jobs !! for those who need them and not there to just bleed the company dry

Is this a reference to US Airways's J4J?

MCOE175 biggest tool ever.

HAHA... what are you 12!

Anyways before you start going on what you call facts... Look at the Earnings statements and where the money for the rented land at SDF is coming from... Do a little research before you can tell me who does what. It seems that your statements gave no merit.

The land is not owned by anyone, that is true! The land is purchased on a 99 year lease program.

I love the simple minded people who think they know what they are talking about!

Also, why don't you check the financials of Compass and see who the lease options you are flying under! I bet you should find that interesting too.

I think all of you at RAH need to stop this we want to take over everybody mentality. Do you ever aspire to move onto a major where life is a whole helluva lot better than RAH? Or do you want to fly around in your 175's/190's for the rest of your careers? Short term gains in your career don't pay off in the long run. This is coming from a former CHQ captain and I can tell you that life at the majors blows away life at RAH.

First off the people at RAH do not have a take over everybody attitude. Bedford might but the crews do not!!!! People need to read between the lines or think outside the box. For some reason that seems too difficult for people here, but what do expect this is FI. Second, Just were are Pilots who do want to move, going to go now? No one is hiring!!! I would love to go overseas and fly for Emirates, but with a family that is kind of tough. The Only airlines I would entertain would be FedEx or UPS or a cherry corporate gig. Neither of whom are hiring. You have made the move and for you the pastures maybe greener. I hope they are and wish you a long successfully career without the agony of a furlow. In doing the math financially I would not be that much farther ahead if I did move to a major. It would take me 8-10 years to get to where I am now and another 5-8 to make up the money I would have lost. Not to mention I am in the top 1/3 of a seniority list now to go to the bottom and possibly get furlowed. I am perfectly happy in the 170/175. If I get to fly the 190/195 then fine. Sometimes you have to look beyond money and do what is best for your family. Everybody's situation is different and you have to look at all aspects.

No doubt that this is true... But it takes years. My father is a 777 driver and it took him years and early retirement of the people higher than him to get a good QOL. Now he has it made in his final years of flying.
You got it at a good time... but for those of us that are at RAH and who have come from another regionals. the QOL of life here is not bad at all. Getting 15-18 days off a month is pretty good. The pay is not all that bad (with the exception of first year).
All that was stated before is not the pilot group hoping to take over someone else. Everyone knows how good that went with the Original Shuttle America.
The industry is changing. They way things are going know we are going to see 3 major airlines in this country.
I have a feeling we will also see a few super regionals. Skywest and RAH...
If any of us were smart we would all have gone to med school.
