Anybody have any info on North American? Possibly have any interview any would like to find out where they are and where they are planning on going. Any info would be appreciated.

Well, their is good and bad as in all jobs. Right now is a bad time though. We just had our last negotiations with the mediator/arbritrator and he says he will not schedule any more for right now. Which means we might be released to strike here shortly. Personally,I say get it over with, set the date, and hope the company comes up with an offer 10 minutes before the strike deadline. BUT, our sister carrier (World Airways) did strike earlier this year. So I am not so sure this mngmnt learned their lesson yet from that one.
So, we just got bought by a company that owns ATA airlines. They say they are going to run us all seperately, so we will see.
Schedules. They run the gamut. 4-5 flights a week to Georgetown, Guyana (the original kool-aid town) that leaves at 1AM, and gets back at 2:30PM.
4 flights a week to Africa (3 to Lagos nigeria, and 1 to Accra, Ghana). Nice flying 10-11 over, 11-12 coming back. 22-24 hours of pay for 2.5 days of work.
Thats it for our scheduled flying. The rest is ad hoc charter. We have 4 lines of short call, 2 hour callout, 4 days on, 4 days off. The rest of the reserve is 24 hour callout and depending on how much flying was known when the bid was made, half the company could be on long call, but 24 hours makes it really workable. Normally, or on average long call is like 9 on, 6 off. But they play with that a little bit. You get at least 12 days off a month on long call. But with 24 hour call, in my opinion, who cares.
Any other questions, please pm and will try and answer. I go home tomorrow, and probably won't be checking this board till my next trip next week.

Ad hoc is a Latin phrase which means "for this purpose". It generally signifies a solution that has been custom designed for a specific problem, is non-generalizable and cannot be adapted to other purposes. Examples include a tailor-made suit, a handcrafted network protocol or a purpose-specific equation. Ad hoc can also have connotations of a makeshift solution, inadequate planning or improvised events.

Ad hoc to me means on demand charter that needs to be flown, simply put. I don't know of a definition, but that is the term we use.

I've heard from 2 people at NA that when the new contract goes through it will have a big raise in pay. Can someone confirm and provide more info on the new contract?

Not sure of exact dates, but the word is 8 a month for the rest of the year. Not sure if our training dept. can keep up though.

I called one of the guys in training and he said 6 per month and it will be every month until the end of the year but they do not have a date for June.

There is a scheduled June 25 class. This information probably helps no one since interviewing for this class is a few days from being complete.

any idea of what the minimums are to apply here, cant find any info elsewhere

They don't have minimums.

They like to see an internal reccommendation, as they have a small pilot group.

As for mins if you have a recommendation? 1000 TPIC and 3000 hours will get you in the door.

My 4500 TT and 1900 TPIC (all Turboprop) got me an interview and job offer without a recomendation, just a resume sent in cold. Took about 2 months for a call. Seemed like great people, the CP was a guy that I wanted to work for, positive, personable, realistic. Didn't take the class only cause I got a better job offer, and then an even better one. No fault of NAA.

Just interviewed for an Aug. 20 class date. Anyone know how long it takes to get an offer (or a rejection letter)?

I would think no more than a week or 2. Mostly they interview people they want to hire, so unless you didn't do well, you should be hearing the good news shortly. Best of luck.
Sincerely,
