The good thing about Republic is that they have their hand in many cookie jars and any one could be closed without much of a disruption to overall operations. Even if they lose money on this deal, it will only bring them inline with most other carriers that are losing money. Of course this all depends upon a positive cash flow, which Republic will have to rely on Midwest to actually pay their bills.

OK- So let me get this right:
-Republic is well-diversified, lending money to many different guys who are about to go T.U.
-Republic will do great even if these guys go bankrupt.
-Republic is gonna rock, as long as there is positive cash-flow.

-hmmmmmm.......
-Sounds like a plan!

First off, this is not my plan and I hope that Repulshuttlequa management knows something I don't.
Second, "without much of a disruption" is not "GREAT"
Third, NOPE they NEEEEEED positive cash flow for any of their "pay for partnership" to work. Even if they go red for a while.

There seems to be a lot of haters on here. I can't believe the amount of negativity in this industry. Republic is doing something different here, hanging it out into the wind, a different approach so to speak. I can agree that yes, we need to get better pay and work rules with these airplanes. Yes, we need to figure out what to do with the employees of Midwest, because this is a bushel of sour grapes. But let's be honest with ourselves, this isn't your dad and mum's industry. Everything is changing and we've got to get out of the thought process of, "There should be Legacies, and we should all be making 300k." Sorry boys and girls, I'm sorry to say, I think those days are gone, possibly never to return. So instead of bitching at each other like a bunch of little girls, we need to get our heads together and be supportive and lend each other their union's expertise to make sure things are done fairly. I'm with you in most respects. We need to insure that our futures are intact, but not relaxing and if can at some point, gain more scope protection. I have to say that I am happy that the SWA pilots held on to scope at least.

Do you believe in Karma?

They have not paid Skywest for a while! What makes you think that your Republic is different? Midwest is on life support, waiting on Delta to pull the plug.

Can anyone tell me if negativity is an actual word?

Did you guys buy your way into all your contracts?

I have no idea what is going on in Indy other than what I get from the union and HQ. I understand that Skywest has not been paid for it's work. Something is up though, and my point was, it doesn't accomplish anything for people to be pointing their fingers and saying, "Republic sux..." If these people actually cared, then they would be volunteering constructive ideas to their union, our union, and becoming active in their profession, this is my point. As far as karma, yeah I believe in humility, and a lot of people from other airlines that aren't doing to hot feel they need to damn us left and right, and feel more self righteous than BB himself. Let me ask you, can karma come back on you if you wish wrong on others just as if you commit it? Just a thought.
