MEC and Fred said today that no pilot furloughs are expected due to lastest MOU. Any reduction in staffing would automatically trigger pay increase given up last June. The reduction in block hours will be absorbed by already being short staffed and COLAs. All aircraft will remain on property and will be flown at 9.5 block per day instead of 10.
 
The word at training today was that as of december 1 we would be overstaffed by 165 pilots, and there would be furloughs, if attrition numbers do not cover that number.

want to take any bets on how long the MOU will hold up in BK?

What do you think will happen if/when DAL enters Chap. 11 proceedings? My bet would be grounding quite a few CRJs given their high lease rates and resulting poor economics with escalating fuel bills...

Chap 11 and everything changes for Comair and Delta. Just pointing out that there will be no furloughs until a BK judge says so or they want to revert to the pay scale prior to the MOU.
Has the reduction slowed or halted the mainline callbacks ?

This type of remark in the current times just refers to the next 2 minutes. Get your resume up to date, and you better already have at least 3 months cash in the bank to fall back on, and pay down the debt. My best tip; don't operate your household finances the way the airlines do.

 
Everything can be suffixed with:

"except under chapter 11."

Its just not worth mentioning every single time.

just wanted to point out for NOW there can be no furloughs unless the company wants to revert to pre MOU scale. That increase would be more than the savings of furloughing the 150 or so which would all still be on first year pay.
Sad part there's a Delta furlough in that bottom 150.
