NJI schedules

just curious, what kind of schedules do NJI guys have? 7 on 7 off? similar to NJA? also, is it true, NJI new hires will come from NJA? thanks.

Yes one more class or two and all newhires come from NJA.

officially, as of November 1 2008 all new hires come from NJA. Everyone is 7/7 at NJI.

Its also a "flexible" 7n7. Some tours are 8 some are 6. Some over a day on either side.

Not sure what Diesel is referring to - but the NJI payscale is NOT the same as any of the NJA payscales. NJI does not have a 'published' payscale - but we are generally above the NJA scales.

Going beyond the 7/7 is strictly voluntary at NJI but does earn overtime.

What i was referring to is that if you got hired now (nja to nji) you would be on the published NJA payscale.

You can say no to overtime, but you can't say no to schedule shifts. Although they do work with you so its a tit for tat.

Also NJI unpublished payscales might be higher but NJA payscales also has a bunch of different overtime options that earns you quite a bit more. Before 8am, after 9hrs, after 12hrs.....
