I will guess it was a nosewheel collapse? Bet it was since there's a long history of this in the 500 series and derivatives.

Nice Job keeping this one from the media.

Question: I saw an 8 1/2 by 11 Glossy photo of the plane laying on the belly skid plate, both mains in the well, and flaps appeared to be set at 15 degrees. If the nose gear only collapsed, how did the mains also collapse ?

It was just a nose wheel. Big deal. The gear was down. Shtt happens,I can't give the 1108 step brothers any shtt over this one.........:)

RT, by this July (if all goes according to plan) you will need to do some title switching. Your step brothers will be known as NJASAP and 1108 will be comprised solely of the Flt Ops pilots....let's call them cousins, shall we? :)

BTW, don't you think that NJASAP has a nice ring to it....;) This summer looks to be just as busy as last summer was with IBB. Exciting times ahead for all NJ pilots.

We will see I am guessing. Unions have done loads of good for the airline guys. I like the pay stuff (OT after 9 hrs). I just don't see how you can do the work rules.

What are you unsure of, exactly? The work rules are all spelled out in the contract and there are Union Stewards trained to help and/or represent the pilots if interpretation is needed. A Steward is always on duty in CMH per the contract. The Company and the Union have found the SOD program helps things run smoother. While the pilotgroup is expected to understand the contract, the leadership and Stewards are contract experts always ready to answer any question and help pilots file a grievance if the contract is violated. IBB proved that the Company and the Union can work well together.

Absolutely! Kudos to the crew and a big sigh of relief for their families....

Has anything official been put out from this unfortunate incident that you may be able to share? In the interest of safety, we all may be able to learn something.

Thanks,

X
