I was thinking the same thing. It may just be my legal background but I know of 3 different guys who have jeopardized their careers with side flying. One just gave a guy a BFR and the guy wrecks 6 months later and the feds go after the instructor (a major cargo carrier pilot) with a 709. Another had simply given a tailwheel endorsement and the chick groundloops it a month later and same thing they go after the instructor. I know there are a whole lot of safe contract type flying jobs but with the decent pay we at NJ make and the amount of time we have off I say get a hobby.. spend more time with the wife or kids...side flying just isn't worth it.
