Which A/C receive the $225 differences pay? How easy is it to extend yourself an extra day to make a little more $$$

If you actually had a choice...........

OK, so here is a classic question for Netjets newhires who might have a choice. Is it better to aim for the XL/XLS where you will make more money per month or is it better to aim for a more comfy cockpit (say G200 if you actually had the choice) because you will be an FO for several years and you might as well have more room up front? That being said, you will probably fly longer flight segments in the G200 because of its range which would contribute to less comfort - XL/XLS will fly shorter hops. So many considerations...

Go for the money! That = Quality of life. I have to work 4 or 5 extended days / yr in the Falcon to make as much as an XL pilot.

Not sure about the G200 or the Hawkers. But I have flown the Ultra, X and now the XL/XLS at NJA. The XL/XLS is BY FAR the better fleet of those. We do work hard, but not as hard as the others. There is an APU and the legs are not nearly as long as the X. Our days are not as long as the X and I feel much better physically at the end of the day now than I did in the X. Add in the differences pay and it's a no brainer.

hydrarkt...I'm hopin' for the interview email within the next week or so and the XL/XLS is definitely what I'm leaning toward if given a choice. Right now, in my Falcon, we run 4 hour legs and sometimes more..."Oh, you need a fuel stop from TEB-BUR?" Plus, making a car payment out of differences cash would sure make the wife happy ~ it'll be tough taking such a huge paycut for a while! And now, I've gotta wait 5 years to get my custom chopper :(

Pat, I know several CE560 FOs that do contract work on their 7 days off, SIC pay is $500. a day. One 3 day trip a month is $1,500. (they airline you to the plane first night, work the second and airline home third) will get ya 15 grand a year, get that bike in no time

Brother...now that's got me excited. I keep checking my dam Outlook Express like 5 times an hour. I need a charter so I can quit tripping here, hahahaa!

Uh, oh ~ time to check email again. Its like a bad OCD. Maybe I'll go mow the lawn and hit it with some fertilizer and grub killer. That oughta get me out for a couple hours.

Lots of 800XPC bids right now for Cpt and FO because of the 900XP's coming in August. Expect them to go senior though because of the differences pay that will be coming with the 900's. If you are lucky enough to get hired into the 800XPC then congrats, it is a great airplane, and extra pay makes it even better.

Really, the 800/900 is going to be run like the XL/XLS, huh? Shoulda seen that coming, but that's something good to know.
