That is what I was thinking. The runway isn't exactly level, up and down like a roller coaster. I had a cheif pilot try to run me off the end of 16 one rainy night almost 10 years ago, i will never forgot it. :eek:
If you have flown in and out of there you can see how it can happen to anyone.
 
Rwy 16 always slippery

When wet, that 16 is always slippery. Grooved or not.

Dont know how they calculate that slope / average of the hills and valleys in the runway equals 1 % down? You got the downslope in the TDZ, then up at mid runway, then down toward the end.

Its like most things up in new york, rarely straight and humps everywhere.

Everything is better in Texas.
