Seems like most of the companies that have a good reputation only hire people without an internal rec if they are hiring low-timers to fill the EEOC requirements... TC

I don't think they will be hiring low-timers. I know the co-pilot requirements looked a little on the low side, but I would bet my bosses wifes boyfriends sweet tan that it doesn't go to the lowest bidder.

Same tune, different words

Any information would help: QOL, PAY, A/C TYPES, etc.

I see most of your replies were in reference directly to the Nike Corp. On the other hand, the fellow that owns Nike has a Global Express that is operated by TAG Aviation out of VNY. The airplane is never there, and since the owner has homes throughout Europe, that is where you will find the airplane most of the time. They have structured a unique plan where the crews rotate in and out of the operation so that the QOL issues are somewhat mitigated. Probably not for everyone, but it works for the guy I know who is one of the Captains.

I think you are confusing Nike with someone else.

Well I have been wrong before but I was told this individual owns Nike as well as numerous other companies. Picture studio, mfg. and early on arms dealing in Israel to name but a few. He is a citizen of Israel, I believe. I guess this is really not important as the first question was aking about the shoe company, not this guy. None the less TAG does operate the Global out of VNY.

Phil Knight owns most of the Nike common stock, if memory serves me he has 90+%. While he no longer is CEO, he is still chairman of the board which would give him access to the corporate jet.

Your're referring to the Bronfman family - no relation to NIKE. Edgar Bronfman formerly owned a movie studio and then sold it. Now I believe he is involved in the music business. To generate cash for the movie studio investment, Bronfman sold a huge stake in Dupont for something like $3-4 billion. Had he held onto that stake instead of selling it, it would now be worth $20-25 billion.... Whoops.

Bronfman = Seagrams

Samuel Bronfman was born on February 27, 1889, in Soroki, Bessarabia, while his family was en route from Russia to Canada. As a young man, he worked in the family's hotel business in Manitoba. In 1924, Samuel Bronfman built his first distillery in Montreal, and in 1928, the Montreal company merged with Joseph E. Seagram & Sons of Waterloo (Distillers Corporation-Seagrams Ltd.).

Bronfman's keen market sense led to the worldwide success of what became The Seagram Company Ltd. For example, in 1933 when prohibition ended in the United States, his company was prepared with huge amounts of aged and carefully blended whiskies, as well as its own U.S. distribution network. Seagram's Seven Crown American Whiskey and V.O. Canadian Whisky soon became the best-selling brands in the world.

In the late '90s Seagrams then merged with Vivendi.

Okay I was wrong about Nike and although the guy does own one of the larger athletic shoe companies, don't ask me which one. His name is Arnon Milchon and he owns a studio, a host of other companies and apparently he has a very big background in weapon sales in the ME. His aircraft is a Global Express, operated by TAG Aviation, USA. End of story, I think?

BTW........TAG Aeronautics, the parent company to TAG Aviation got it's start by selling "things" in the ME as well.

Some Dude Interviewed ?

What do you think your chances are ? Some people will do almost anything to get an employee store pass !!!!!!

Heard they were making a decision first week in July. Would be a great job though, most of those guys are getting up there in age, should be another round of hiring in a few years. Know if Phil still travels a lot ? If only they would have moved to Denver ..............

Milchan just produced Mr&Mrs Smith

As far as the Broffmans: they are NetJets customers
It was truly amazing to see Edgar Jr killed what I thought was un killable. The Brofmans owned Seagrams and all of the various liquors that were associated with the name. They also owned Tropicana and all of the juices/mixes. A license to print money.
On top of that they were the largest shareholders in Dupont. At one point they had 2 GV's, a Global and a helicopter.
Edgar Jr wipped it all out with his desire to go Hollywood.

If memory serves me, I think Seagrams had dibs on the first GV delivery back 97. They either traded/sold the spot which eventually went to Mr. Annenberg (Philanthropist/TV Guide) out of KILG. (SN 507)
