I read the thread started in March of 2010 and wanted to see if anyone has anymore input on newer devices you use or would recommend. We are looking to purchase 4 units for our 2 Citation XLS'. Needed are Jepps, WX, GSP, (possibly some data storage but not a necessity)

Not sure if you're going to get all three in one unit, but I could be wrong. Panel mounting a Garmin MX200 will get it all but with NACO charts(and the charts won't be full view). Also, I've been told the GPS on portable units has trouble with heated windshields. The Garmin 696 looks nice, but $3000+(and who knows what for chart subscriptions) is hard to choke. Honestly, the iPad is hard to beat and you can get Jepp charts for it now.

My GMX200 has Jepps on it. Never seen one with anything else.

Having spent the last three years using the GMX200, I can say it is worth having. Very stable, user friendly and quick. Weather is accessible, nexrad, weather radar integration.

Bought the Garmin 696 about a year ago and, very honestly, it's the best $3000ish investment i've ever seen for an airplane. Since recent availability to put Jeppesen charts on the unit there is now world-wide coverage through a Jeppview subscription. (pay for what you need and you can have the other areas turned on within minutes when you need it).

Jepp Charts, XM weather (actual radar and all the WxBrief type charts you'd get in the FBO), GPS back-up instruments, Terrain & Obstacle avoidance, aopa's version of accu-kwik and much more. If you can use a Garmin 430 this will take about 5 minutes to learn and you'll have the whole thing down.

It takes a little thought to set it up in the Excel cockpit but once we got it positioned to where we liked it all is good.

I'm sure there are alternatives....but we have no reason to look for them.

$3000 would give me a reason to look for alternatives lol!
