A full time CP in IAD is a pretty good indication the company thinks that it may grow. Not too many from the training department already in IAD, could be anyone....

ATL base chief could be anyone from the training department, go figure. You wouldn't want a line pilot in the office, or anyone with a lot of line experience. My bet is RC or someone entirely new. Not going to be KS or FM.

They already do that. Notice when they ask for people who would actually want the job, they get responses. Shouldn't that be a bad indication right off the bad. Find someone who doesn't want to do the job. Find someone who was in the training department years ago but has since enjoyed the good life of being on line. Find a professional pilot who can be a role model and a mentor.

Now why would we want to ruin a perfectly good line pilot? After one year he or she will hate us all-thinking we're all a bunch of whining, lazy nonstandard flying idiots.

The best solution is to get someone from training; someone who obviously already feels that way!!!

25 to 1 it's a Standards pilot. The GO hardly likes them now since they fly the line.

2 to 1 for a line pilot. Hell, he's the only one who really knows what it's like to fly the line!

I'll take that bet. I am going with a Standards guy with an outside chance of a line pilot. IP again? Not a chance.

Don't kid yourselves- there's a "Bad Boy's List" that they are familiar with. Since the assistant chief pilots work in close proximity to each other, they aren't going to like, or allow, someone they don't like to share relative office space. I can think of one example right off the top of my head that fell squarely in this catergory. Once the application was submitted, a resounding "HELL NO" was voiced and the resume was promptly file 13'nd................right into the trash. Hopefully someone gets the job that feels the pulse of the pilots. Frankly, I'm not looking for "Santa Clause" in the chief pilots office, but I am looking for someone fair, and reasonable. From my personal dealings with the office, that's what we've got, and I'd like to keep it that way..........................

Nope, just a Georgia Boy in my 30's with the strong desire to stay out of the office as much as possible- there's something to be said for anonymity and lack of exposure. In short- fly low, and beat the radar................

You guys are totally missing the logic. Go back and read the email. The email flat out says, "......and add an Assistant Chief Pilot to ATL". Then goes on to say, "The ATL Base Chief Pilot position is planned to be staffed from candidates currently within Flt Ops leadership.....etc".

Now use a little logic here. If they staff the ATL base position from anywhere else BUT the ATL chief pilot's office.....THEN THEY WOULDN'T NEED another assistant chief pilot. Those positions would already be filled by FM, RC, and KS. Therefore the Base CP must be coming from one of those three, thereby vacating the assistant position.

RC says flat out it's not him. His ties to AGS seem to support that statement. My bet is KS, but there's an outside shot at FM. But the best is still KS.

BIG UPDATE FLASH !!!!
Go on the ASA sight, sign into your "my records" section and see who your new supervisor is. The name that used to be there was BS. (before he got moved to Director of Safety)

I think it may be settled folks, but who knows, maybe that's a temporary.
